Power/DS Necro Sigils...
Sigils depend on what you are doing, I’m going to assume WvW or maybe sPvP with a PVT build.
For PvE it does not really matter, stack bloodlust or something.
For PvP I like to use sup sigil of hydromancy for chill and sigil of energy for endurance. Stacking crit and pow is good but overall having controll is what necros are all about in pvp/wvw
WvW, i rarely S/PvP and PvE you could do it all with with white armor and nothing else. Yeah i was thinking something like Chill. Shame no 30% chance on crit one, shame they dont have a AoE heal on weapon swap
Not that i would use it but http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sigil_of_Renewal AoE heal on swap. Have no clue if this is in the game or not but its in the wiki
Kinda annoyed that Healing Sigils (Blood and water) DONT work in DeathShroud. I mean they work in other transformation (iirc) So both of them and i am guessing any other healing trait is out of the window on on Crits
I am a fan of
Sigil of Generousity / Sigil of Purity (cheaper but worse)
Put it on your Axe. Power Necros spend a lot of time in death shroud and accumulate a ton of conditions while they are in death shroud. Death shroud has no way to remove conditions either.
Finally most power Necros take traits Soul Reaping or Curses 15 that making getting crits in shroud less of a problem.
Sigil of Generousity drops from personalized winter days gifts, so you can farm them or buy them now while they are “cheap.”
Sigil of Energy on your staff and/or your offhand. You need the extra dodge from energy. I prefer to put the sigil of energy on the staff because I try to go into shroud with Axe and I want 2 useful sigils in death shroud. Suggestions for an offhand sigil would include anything passive (like sigil of force or accuracy), or anything kill count (like sigil of bloodlust).

This Sigil is great for Condi builds, i have not tried it on my Power build (ill have to do that)
With my condi build Ill run it on my staff and its just one more way to deal with conditions lol
Yeah thats not a bad Sigil – 15g cost though….
Sigil of Ice seems decent only 30% crit chance with 10 second cool down is pretty weak
Power Builds get owned hard by Immobilizes, and to throw it back at them is just too good.
Plus, power builds typically take +20% or +30% duration just from traits, so you are already sorta traited for it.
Okay thanks. I will put Generosity on my Warhorn as thats the weapon set i use most of the time, Need something for Dagger/Focus though something more defense minded that works inside DS Maybe Chill on crit?
I have always used sigil of Blood in my wvw builds, but since I have recently been playing a spec that focuses mainly on sitting in DS, Blood wont do me much good so I have switched to Ice. (Hydromancy may be better, but I like having chill proc off of lifeblasts). Other good options are Force, Accuracy(if you really need it to hit 50% crit baseline), Night, Bloodlust, or other stacking sigils.

Is Ice the one that procs from hits? I was thinking about it, how often does it proc for you though? 30% chance to me seems rather low
I have already taken Accuracy and Perception, so i get about 38-40% Crit chance outside of DeathShroud, decent but nothing amazing.
Well I use a build that gives me 100% crit in DS, so it procs all the time for me… the cooldown on it is pretty long which is why people usually prefer hydromancy. But the reason I stick with Ice is because as far as I know you cant swap weapons to trigger those effects while in DS.
I also use Sigil of Fire on my staff. I think the AoE damage is just the best option for WvW and since it procs a lot in DS its a solid damage boost.
Yeah its the 30% chance and 10second cool down i dont really like. If it was like 50% chance and 10second cool down then i would jump at it. Yeah Hydromancy was one i was thinking about but with the fact you can’t weaponswap inside DS (I think you could before they “Fixed” it)
I was thinking of tweaking my gear so that i would have 100% Crit Chance, i already have the 50% trait and with my current setup and Perception i think i am around like 25% or something
I could replace some of my gear for stuff that has Precision on it currently my stats are:
1,873Power
1,100 Precision
1,708Toughness
1,594Vitality
2,867Attack
18% Crit Chance (5 stacks of perception)
2,628Armor
26,661Health (20,796 DS Health)
40% Crit Damage
20% Boon Duration
20% Condition Duration
0 Condition Damage
Sigil of fire actually sounds like a decent idea.
The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.
I use fire on both weapon sets. Power Necros are all about burst and fire seems to be the best option for it. My setup is:
Dagger (Fire) / Warhorn (Bloodlust)
Axe (Fire) / Focus (Force)
Swap to a Warhorn with Force once I’m at 25 stacks.
I use the following set up;
Dagger (Sigil of Fire) / Warhorn (Sigil of Battle)
Axe (Sigil of Ice) / Focus (Sigil of Battle)
80 Ranger (3), 80 Warrior (3), 80 Thief (3)
80 Ele (2), 80 Engi (3), 80 Rev (2)
I use the following set up;
Dagger (Sigil of Fire) / Warhorn (Sigil of Battle)
Axe (Sigil of Ice) / Focus (Sigil of Battle)
I am pretty sure the Battle Sigils will but the others on cool down right away, is it really worth doing that? What kind of build are you?
I use the following set up;
Dagger (Sigil of Fire) / Warhorn (Sigil of Battle)
Axe (Sigil of Ice) / Focus (Sigil of Battle)
If you got high crit, you won’t get many might stacks from this build…
If you are low crit, your fire/ice will never proc due to being on cooldown most of the time and having a too low chance to proc for the remainder.

What do you guys think of Sigil of Luck?
