Q:

For the Attack attribute, what is considered to be good in terms of putting out direct damage? Looking for a range basically. What range would be considered having weak Attack? Medium Attack? Heavy Attack?

Well, in PvP, there isn’t a lot of choices on build as equipment is very limited. Running zerk with sigils of force and scholar runes is the max, I think. Anything else isn’t really worth in if you’re going DS spam.

Been running this build for awhile now. Got to rank 72 on solo Q, (now on a losing streak ouch).

You can switch out some traits with others. I would run divinity ruins. With DS trait and divinity ruins you can have 62% crit damage bonus, and 100% crit chance in DS.

Attack means nothing. You want to look at power, crit chance and crit damage.

Attack factors in power. Was looking for a number range if anyone has derived one. Not looking for a build.

Attack is a useless number they created from power and precision. It has no relation to damage dealt or dps. It should be removed as it creates misinterpretation of stats (you can create a very low dps build and it will have the same or close to the same attack as a fully offensive optimized build). I have no idea why they added it because its not actually used for anything formula wise ingame.

What you are asking for is impossible to answer because the attack stat has no real correlation to damage done.

If you want to compare builds of the same class, using the same weapons. The best way is to calculate effective power. This can be done using your own calculations or on http://gw2buildcraft.com/calculator/

Ok, if you want to focus on power then focus on power. What is a decent amount of power, what is high, what is low? Sorry for not spelling out the question for everyone. Not interested in your builds. Basically wondering if somewhere someone has SOME idea of what decent power/toughness/vitality/whatever levels are. Not looking to go into deep “what if” scenarios, not looking for trolls. Just someone with legitimate help answer.

Stack power, thats it. There isnt any scenario like “uh, i have X power now, so i can take useless attributes now”. Get berserker amulett or something similar with main power stat, since you talk about sPvP you really dont have too much options …

There is no way to say whats good and whats bad. In pve anything but close to the maximum dps builds is bad but in pvp/wvw its down to trait choices and how much you are willing to sacrifice for what you want. I believe in wvw people try to keep a certain level of armour and then maximise damage on top of that, its not really possible to do it the other way round. :P

You shouldnt be building around a balance of stats. You should be building around what you want to do and what traits you want. If you are talking about pve you should be going full dps though. So beserker.
