Power Reaper Roam
Oh man, where to begin. Havent roamed with power reaper since i got hyped by video of hollts.
Decent thieves will interrupt and blind you for days.
Revs do massive damage while being invulnerable more than half the time.
Druids just kite and cc you galore.
Condi mesmers…
Anything else isnt a strong counter exactly, but amongst power builds, necro is the worst right next to ele. Now condi reaper has its weaknesses too but it deals better with kiters and is more tanky. The way to go seems like axe wh staff and shouts. Havent tried spectral skills since cooldown buff so that may be worth giving a try.
We counter tempests if you have standard boon removals in your build. Even better if you are running condi.
We counter most condi enemies if you have standard condi transfers in your build.
Every other class counters us.

kitten . I really hoped something else. Well, it seems I will learn to play better and try to hold my own ( or hold my own)
If you are using shouts in your build vs many ppl its better to pull them into chokes.
Greatsword can pull huge numbers if used correctly.
A big thing about power reaper is it can be countered easily by kiting. I suggest using staff and d/x for this reason. Try and use chill to catch enemies instead of just spamming it.
Reaper is all about kill or be killed so solo roaming can be quite hard, but seeing the big numbers is what makes it worth it.
I suggest looking at hollts’s videos on youtube.
Bad Elementalist
This is my build. Recently got it referred to as a “beast” in tangled depths tackling a champion enemy, but I don’t know how well it would transfer into something like WvW. I think, though, that for power reaper the best bet is honestly to focus on chilling and controlling an enemy while also getting boosts from random npc enemies in the map using shout procs. Thoughts?
You will unfortunately be kited to death using that build. And condi reapers will make you ponder life and wonder how necros can be so bad at WvW roaming, yet power reaper gets owned by condi reaper that hard.
Thank you all for your time. I have tried several builds for power reaper, but again a good kiter can really kill you without problems. Power reaper is not the type that can roam freely. Although in party (if you are not focused) you can do really good stuff. I tried axe with boon corrupting(turning them into vuln. ) shout and the result was really good. But not enough sadly.
If you know how to beat thief, it’s cake. I usually run for them because they die so quickly. Get them to engage you and dodge the big hits, pop chillblains at your feet, likely proccing Sigil of Rage. Swap weapons to GS, shroud → stability → Soul Spiral, and whirl for huge damage and poison. If they stay in to fight or are slow to react, they die from like 17-20k damage. If they leave, you have GD and Charge to keep them from running, as well as staff for fear. They’ll pop BD on something, and you can and Punish with the rest of your CC (fear/CttB/whatever).

this is my wvw build, you have a disadvantage playing against condi heavy builds, becouse you cant remove enough condis (you can use consume conditions instead of your soul is mine)
Walk up to an afking thief, Chilled to the Bone, Axe #2 with Chill of Death and Chilling Nova proc, dead.
