The only thing is I don’t wanna get absolutely destroyed in one hit but I want to do a lot of damage in a short period, so I put a ton of toughness on but I still only have 2.5k toughness. does this look like it would work well?

I have been using the same build more or less and use way more Zerker then you. I do fine in both the zerg and roaming. Personally I always have spectral wall and walk on my bar. Walk really helps with Life force and the port back can be clutch. Wall its great for getting protection and the fear is great, it can help with burst if you can chain that fear with your DS fear.

Btw you have 1600 toughness (2.5K is your armor rating which is different) but I run closer to 1400 toughness and never have a problem. Also you may want to get your crit chance up, if you can get it closer to 50% you can have basically 100% crit in DS.

I would drop master of terror for path of midnight. The fear increase will be minimal and getting your DS skills up fast will be very helpful. Also I would take those 10 points and move them to curses for weakening Shroud or blood magic for Vampiric precision. Both will help with the survivability bit.

Those are just my 2 cents about this build and what works for me. But in the end this build is very overpowered if played right. Running with the zerg on reset night I only died once and it was to falling damage. (flashed DS ) One tip that i can think of is don’t save DS for when your low, and don’t let your life force get completely full. Life blast hits like a truck so use it. Hope this helps, have fun.

Here’s about what I use.

D/F + Staff for my weapons. I really like melting people with the dagger and locking them down with the focus, then switching to staff for either sheer utility or carpet-bombing the area if I’m facing a lot of people or a thief who’s trying to be tricky. If I get into a group skirmish or zerg fight, the Staff will really serve me well.

For utilities, I love love love Spectral Grasp. This build has tools to get into melee range, but I really like being able to save my other CC for keeping them there. Spectral Grasp is also great as an extra interrupt and for instantly killing someone running from a zerg. It can miss, but you just gotta learn when to use it and when to hold off.

I go with Flesh Golem when roaming. It’s an extra damage platform, an extra body to screw up foes’ “Target Nearest” button, and an AoE knockdown that deals really good damage. I’m not really a big fan of Lich Form, to be honest. I never see a very big damage increase from DS1 to Lich Form’s auto and I hate being locked out of the rest of my skills.

HOWEVER, I’ll switch to Plague in group fights or if I’m near an allied tower and am worried about getting overwhelmed. Pop Plague, activate the Blinding field, and just saunter to safety, as long as you can get there in about 10-15 seconds. Or if you’re feeling ballsy, Plague, then dive into the enemy team to spearhead a zerg clash. You’ll take the brunt of the enemy’s attacks just fine thanks to Plague’s massive defensive bonuses (don’t forget to dodge, though! You can still dodge and jump as a Plague) and screw up their counterattack with your pulsing blinds.

For equipment, I go more zerker than you but it really comes down to personal preference. More damage is good, more defense can be good too.

I main Ele and Necro, though I have an alt of each profession at level 80.

I honestly think plague form is a must for roaming. It can buy you the extra time you need to lose multiple foes with a spectral walk near a ledge (small hill or even a cliff). You can sit on those tricky opponents who just barely lost the fight and are attempting to down you and win in a downed battle. You can use it as you approach water and still be in it once you enter.

Lich form is like a “I win” button for a single fight and if you play smart, you will rarely need more than DS.

I would also ditch the well of suffering for spectral walk so you can build life force and cc heavy classes won’t ruin your day. You can also use it to reposition in a fight making life blasting down opponents that much easier. Above all it’s necromancers best escape option since small hills can become getaways and large cliffs can even become your opponent’s death.

As Zikory said you should look into getting some zerkers on that set.
