Fighting a berserker guardian can be pain especially if your elite is on cd. So i want to make power necro to its max potential vs zerk guardian.

What you think is the best power build that have easier fighting vs dps guard?

First of all we need some survivability to survive guard burst dps and to survive till his defensive skills on cd but also need good dps.

Id like to see what builds you guys come up with. What you think about drop Staff for Axe/x instead?

It can work. But… what defensive skills? O.o
We haven’t one. If you want you can try to use Spectral Armor and Spectral Wall to obtain Protection and a fear. That’s the only way we have to mitigate the damage of a dps guardian.
But with it’s teleport and breakstun kill a guardian is hard. If you add blind, block and the GS CC skill, fight a guardian is even harder.

The axe can be good because grant you a good way to recharge DS and you can deal damage from a little fistance. But a meditation guardian have a lot of movement skills.

With the Axe you can use the Focus to rip away he’s boon. Convert it with the utility or give weakness with the offhand dagger is useless because a meditation guardian have good ways to clean or convert conditions.

Basicly, you can’t kill a dps guardian, if he’s focusing on you.

No never drop staff for axe , NEVER (mayble PvE I don t know much about PvE).

Well you could be ez and just take greater marks , fire and air on your staff, do alot of ranged attacks first and doge his GS2.Trait setup is 4/0/4/0/6 and you’ll prob beat him. Use specarm, corrupt boon and signet of spite (could be switched out for well of suffering). Use reaper mark to interupt his heal. And use chillblainst to poison him.

Try to time Wail of Doom for Shelter heal.

Other than that, it’s worst possible 1v1 matchup for Power Necro.

Let them blink to you with judges intervention, well of darkness, root them, well of suffering & locust swarm, beat them down, use ur warhorn to interrupt their heal.

Beating a dps guardian is not hard in fact necro does better vs guardian then most meta builds. If you are new to necro and you start a fight with no life force yes you wont win. Necro can beat any class and any build just need to play it right. Like Darwec said above warhorn is key. Power staff in a 1v1 is not a great idea either try dagger/horn and then off hand dagger or axe dagger or axe focus. Life steal is also a realy good way to win 1v1s. The traditional power build with soul reaping sucks try spectral variants.

I don’t have much problem against gs medi guards as a power necro hammer guards are a little harder. D/w a/d zerk 6/2/0/0/6 Woc wos sa. You can kite the living kitten out of mediguard once there Tele is gone, and even if they manage to down you your downstate will kill them.

Yes you can kite with dagger and axe, switch to axe when you see a gs or hammer and switch to dagger when you see scepter and try to get in close as soon as you see scepter.

Don’t use lifesteal. Don’t use death magic. Don’t use blood magic. Don’t use well of darkness. Don’t use signet of spite.
The traditional power build does not suck people just have no clue how to play it.

The only way a medi guard beats me usually is if he severely outplayed AND has a block for when I go into downstate.

As far as axe vs staff, for a long time I thought staff was mandatory on all pvp builds. I admit that was wrong, my axe hate was unwarranted and it can be useful in between ds and dagger.

I’ve, honestly, never had issues against any brand of MediGuard as a Power Necro. The most important part is to never get caught in Staff with both weapon swap and Death Shroud on cooldown, because that is when you’re most vulnerable to them. Additionally, you need to be smart with your dodges because you neither get Vigor nor energy sigils.

I tend to save Doom for interrupting their burst and forcing them on the defensive. They’re also very vulnerable to repeated Dagger autoattack chains, so if you can CC them into a wall and wail on them you’ll put them down quickly. Save your wells either for when he rings or after he’s burned both Shelter and Renewed Focus. It’s an even easier fight if he’s trying to hold a small point against you because you can easily smash him.

Both your wells and Life Blast will totally wreck any MediGuard, all you have to do is make sure you actually connect with them. Obviously don’t try to 1v1 them if you have no life force.

Also if you’re super worried about guards, you can take corrupt boon as one of ur utilites. If they pop save your selves and u use corrupt boon, funny things happen.

When I first got hit with the Medi-Guard madness I was a bit upset thinking this hard counter stuff was true. It’s not, I played the Medi guard template till I was fairly proficient so I could understand the build.

They are glassy, just as glassy as Power necro. The best thing to do is to hit them with the same things that are hard for us to negotiate. The problem is they have more immobilize ect. So you have to time your immobilize and daze well then hit them hard. You have to wait for all their stunbreaks to be used to. The important thing is to remember thier damage is tied to thier stunsbreaks and heals. So using it for one thing or the other they wont have it later when needed if you do it all within a specific amount of time.

So I dodge roll-kite, then switch to dagger, drop wells and let them have it.

There are only a few medi guards now that know what I am up to but most are surprised by the dagger attacks.
