Powermancer utilities?
Is this a pve, spvp, tpvp, wvw, fractals? What are you building for?

Ahh sorry, WvW.
More so for Small groups and roaming with my guild.
I use WoSuf, Spectral walk and spectral grab.
I first spectral grab, then dark pact, then leave WoS, focus 4 than doom with DS followed by DS 2, after that just do some dagger 1’s.
If you want to see my powermancer actually do that combo go to the link in my description.
I personally don’t try to get too wrapped up in counterable “gib” combos. WoS is a lot of damage, but what you want to decide first is how many ticks you are OK with getting out of it. Even if you Dark Pact them before dropping it, many classes have the blinks/immob breaks/cleanses + dodge rolls to just get right out after 1 or maybe 2 ticks. Especially in WvW, where people don’t care about fighting on a particular piece of ground most of the time, and against roamers who specifically build for mobility/escape, you can run into issues with it.
I personally like Well of Darkness and Corrupt Boon most. You probably are fairly content with having the ability to strip 3 boons on Focus #5, and for the most part it’s “enough”. However, having the ability to corrupt another 5 on many classes (ele, engi, guard, even many Warrior builds) is insanely useful. Goodbye Protection, Regen, Fury, Might, and Vigor. You don’t directly see numbers, but the damage you gain from their inability to dodge from Vigor loss and their lack of Protection vs. the mitigation you gain from them having Weakness/not having Might and Fury should not be overlooked, and it’s Unblockable, so a Guard trying to use Shelter to heal with Stability on is in for a surprise. It’s also only a 40 second cooldown.
Well of Darkness I find gives me a lot more mitigation than you might expect against the right classes. If you drop it when you anticipate a Thief coming in for a CnD, for example, you can both make the CnD miss and get several auto-attacks in, which is a very large gain in the fight. Combined with Chilling Darkness, you can make it so they have to dodge roll out, or they just walk slowly out from the center while you wail on their back. Then once they are out, they still have to blow the Blind, so you have more time to hit them before they can retaliate.
Given free reign, a Necro can absolutely obliterate people with offensive utilities, but I never assume that I’m going to get free reign, because I’m a Necro. I’m going to get focused, and I need to be able to survive. A simple combo through Dagger #3 → Focus #4 → DS (so the Focus #4 gets 50% crit) → DS #1 → Doom before the immob ends → DS #1 is several thousand damage, and I just hate watching people dodge merrily out of a simple damage-based well (I know it stacks vuln too, but it doesn’t give me anything else).
I like running Spectral Grab to pull stragglers/brave people on the edge of walls, but I often can’t justify dropping Spectral Armor/Well of Darkness/Corrupt Boon/Plague Signet for it.

That’s why I Doom right after. They will probably need 1-2 seconds to realize “I’ve been pulled and immobed by a dagger necro” which is enough time for me to cast well/focus 4 and than immediately doom.
Interesting, never thought of Well of Darkness.
The choices get even more difficult :P

Honestly, I swap my utilities around almost constantly. See a Guard/Ele coming at me? Switch WoD to Corrupt Boon. See a Thief approaching? Switch back to WoD. Need to kill a camp? Swap in at least WoS for Spectral Armor. Find a zerg fight? Swap in WoS and WoC both, potentially go into traits and switch to Focused Rituals and Unyielding Blast as well (I don’t usually take it). PvD with some defenders on the walls? Swap in Spectral Grasp.
Plague Signet I don’t swap out for almost any reason anymore, though. It’s too useful.

Cogs right, especially with the way we can retrait on the fly now. I do the same thing in tpvp depending on the team we are about to fight.

I’m after Cog. You can’t really say which utilities are the best for Powermancer. I run SA,SG and Wurm because I tend to solo roam but I’m ready to swap something to SW for example when I know I’ll be fighting on a territory with z-axis or take CB if there’s some boonspammer.
I’m not a fan of wells though. I like WoP and WoD, sometimes Blood for PvE but WoS/WoC aren’t for my playstyle. Better players will get out of that.
