yup that is one of the reason why i love DS
It also works when trying to escape a zerg. Fall of a cliff pop DS and you survive. If they decide to follow you, the fall damage just made them easy kill for you.
The reason you didn’t realize it is because it’s a new bug at least this year on some patch, you no longer died if you fell while in death shroud where before you could die even in Death Shroud if the fall was too high.
Retired Until Expansion or Meaningful Content is Released.

If your using Toxic Landing over any of the other Adept traits your doing something wrong, also if you use Deathshroud to absorb the damage you will still trigger Toxic Landing.
Activating Spectral Walk and recalling in midair just before impacting the ground will also cause you to take no damage and not even enter combat (and slow you).

Activating spectral walk jumping off a cliff and bungeeing up to it while your teammates fall to their death is still one of the funniest things to do :P.
Shhh…don’t want devs taking this out. It is SOOO fun.
My favorite part is being on a high cliff for a Vista along with somebody else. Jumping off and surviving, then watching them try to do the same thing and laughing when they die. Of course I’m nice enough to res them after though
This is actually hilarious in WvW if you catch a zerg guarding a Treb on a cliff top. Have a teammate stealth you, run through zerg to edge of cliff, drop Staff #4, WoS to get their attention and break stealth and then jump off of the cliff. Usually you get at least 5 to follow you. Its hysterical.
I really hope we get to keep this. Necromancers finally have something desirable over other professions.

We won’t. It’s a bug, it will eventually get fixed.

I really enjoy the fall invulnerability aspect of death shroud. It’s one of the very few benefits of playing a necromancer and gives them some neat, minor, unique utility. I certainly don’t feel jealous or angry about necromancers and their fall damage immunity when I’m playing my ‘main’ classes. More cool, harmless stuff to differentiate professions like that is welcome. Reminds me of the mostly worthless but still fun little “extra” abilities from back when I played WoW, like the warlock’s water breathing or mage’s slow fall. This game sorely lacks that.

Haha inventing and discovering aren’t quite the same thing :P. I didn’t know you wrote the code that allowed us to do it.
