Also, as a srsbsns question, how would you actually stop this without some heavy, heavy siege in place? Assuming a zerg of 40 people, that is 280 bodies that you have to cleave down in essentially 24 seconds (the CD of the longest non-elite traited), and even minions have pretty high base eHP.

I dont really see anything unusual there, except something that applies to most of them…

now imagine every necro in that zerg running transfusion as well, I doubt you would kill even half the pets against an equal number zerg.
I don’t think it’d be difficult to keep the minions alive. Its a group of around 280, you’d need to do at least 3 million damage in 24 seconds before the AoE buffer is summoned back. The problem is that each Necro will be summoning 6 minions, so 7 total units per actual person in the zerg, or every 2.5 people in the zerg will actually take up another full AoE limit (a group of 40 would actually need 56 people laying AoE to hit everything with AoE). In a fight against equal zerg size, and with healing going on, I just don’t see it being feasible to deal that much damage that quickly.
Also, a fun side note. For every minion you kill, you deal around 1.5k damage, assuming they have death nova, meaning each round of summons can deal around 360k damage. Not to say this is necessarily super viable, but I don’t see it being possible to stop without heavy fortifications.
I want to see this zerg slaughter an ordinary zerg. Seriously, do it!

I was on FA fighting them. In open field there was nothing our commanders could do. Even our commanders that main necros were laughably clueless about necro skills, and how to fight back against them.
For a server that mocks any necro that doesn’t run wells (like me), watching them get schooled was glorious.
FA has this thing against using open field arrow carts too, I told them to just drop carts and aoe the pets… but no one listens to me….
Playing the engineer “as intended” is simply not viable.
Yeah, multiple arrow carts are the only answer to a zerg of MM.

Kudos to the Mag crew that pulled it off. I have often thought to myself that a huge Necro onslaught would be hard to counter and exponentially so if they were MM.
I would have liked to see that crash into a zerg just for kicks. I imagine it would be tonnes of fun.

Wish there was a free trail to transfer to one of the tier 2 servers and go against Magguma. I keep hearing from various people that magguma have so many great solo and small group roamers!

Well, at the moment, we’re both getting our butts kicked by TC, sorry to say. Though I don’t generally find Mag to be much of a problem, tbh.

Yeah, I agree with you, Blaine. Whenever we’ve faced Maguuma, they really haven’t been that much of a problem.
I’ve also noticed a distinct lack of flame ram placements from them lately. Kind of odd.
That said, I hope they do this again this week. Would be fun to see.

Unfortunately our roamers do little to nothing against the sheer numbers advantage on off hours that every server above us can bring. Really it is our coordinated guilds that improve PPT, which would be the only way for us to win, and those groups do NOT run much outside of primetime.
Maguuma always does well in NA primetime, and sometimes OKAY during NA afternoon, but gets completely wrecked from late night through early morning, as our server has almost no overseas coverage at all.
Also, most of the guilds (including mine), have determined they would rather zerg bust than really concern themselves with taking any objectives. The primary reason is that against TC for instance, there is no way we can hold more than maybe our garrison overnight, and everything else (including EB) will get taken and upgraded. This happens against FA, and DB as well. And JQ last week… was not even funny.
We did have a nice friendly few people dueling last night on TC which was fun, but as far as PPT, Maguuma always loses the coverage fight.
And people have started dropping balistas now because they are cheaper. RIP GL Flame Ram.
