yeah….this is a ground target AoE, and when u get knocked down or knocked back, its annoying as hell to have to target yourself.

can we have the option to disable this one’s ground target so instead it always spawns at your feet?

that way i don’t accidently place it to far away to work on me (cause i have right mouse button down to turn camera)

it’s not hard to get used too. Thought it sucked too at first.

Ground targeted anything takes some practice to use properly. I highly suggest using your Staff in high stress situations (duels, small scale fights in WvW/PvP) to help you feel out the mechanic. Once you’ve done that, it’s quite easy to use tbh…

I used to play Trapper Ranger (when traps were still throwable) and still play a conditionmancer. I can drop AOE’s beneath my feet about as fast as I could drop them without a manual targeting system. It’s very easy once you have the muscle memory for it.

If you clic the skill, you’ll be the target. (work for me and i had the same issue)

hovering over your targets hpbar defaults all ground targets to right beneath your feet.

This is one of the few times i could imagine that actually being useful rather than borderline game-breaking

All you need to do is using your mouse on that skill in that situation. In the end is faster then to try to target yourself and then click it.

yes i know but i’m usually so busy controlling the camera. so it doesn’t help much to let camera go and groudn target

I think if you double tap the button which is currently assigned to your skill if will cast it on you feet? I can’t get ingame at the moment to test it, but I recall doing that before.

if i hit the skill once, it immediately places the well where my mouse is (which i can’t see cause i’m moving the camera)

the 2nd i let go of the key, it places it. no time for a 2nd click.

wish i could right click the skill and select “place at feet”

Do you have fast casting enabled in the options menu? Because I don’t have that. I have to click the mouse button to actually place the well on the ground. I’m pretty sure that I could cast it at my feet double tapping it, but maybe that was just a lucky coincidence >.>

i do have it enabled because of staff marks and the other 2 wells i use

but even before i enabled it, double clicking still didnt put it at my feet
