Since the change in discription of the skill , i rarely use it.
the reason is that it is groundcast skill and i noticed the cast time is too long since the changes happened.

I used to cast it on allies and fields, but now it’s pretty much reduced to selfcleanse..

So why keep this skill ground targeted with long casttime for effects it doesn’t provide anymore?

Iow. Change the skill to 1/4 sec cast and make it cast on yourself so we don’t have to do another extra hoopjump for less payoff.
If you nerf somethin, please remember the mechanics that go with it next time.. thanks..

Special note: why have runesets in game that give all buffs and cleanse and remove more and more condition spread every patch?

So… you want to nerf the mark to no longer be ground targeted (?) because the tooltip was updated to match what that skill has been doing for the past 5 months anyway?

Btw the cast time never changed.
And… you do know that the self cleanse doesn’t require you to actually stand on the mark, right?

The direct damage is relatively high, you transfer 3 conditions per target and the blast finisher is the entire mark’s surface.
Why would it be better if it hit just one target instead of five?

It’s also worth noting that the skill is the only attack in the game that outright ignores Blind.

I miss the ally cleansing function, but we’re pretty sure that got removed because of a bug when the game said “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” incorrectly.

Only thing that needs for putrid to happen is either the return of the full cleanse or be a full transfer pre target… or the current version to apply to all allies.

If you’re referring to it showing it executing a blast finisher before the mark is triggered, that’s a very old bug. It doesn’t do a blast finisher until the mark is actually triggered. it’s just a visual anomaly

I don’t think that’s a bug, and I hope anet doesn’t consider it to be one.
Losing either one of the two finishers would be a huge nerf (like this skill needs more of those..).
As to the “visual anomaly”, that’s actually not an anomaly and can be very useful in certain situations.

Actually it is, you can proc Putrid to do 2 blast finishers if its triggered when 1 out of 2 combo fields on it ends and then someone triggers it (kinda how ranger GS leap does 2 leap finishers* or 3 if you bug/exploit it out*).
In any other situation it just shows the combo youll get before you actually get it, kinda like your annoying parents teased you with your birthday presents by keeping them in plain sight but out of reach…

I love that mark. Sure it was way better when we were able to remove conditions from allies, but heck – have the necromancer ever been a social creature? This mark is fine as it is.

I know how it works (I posted a rather detailed explanation a while ago, here), I still don’t think that’s a bug.

Putrid mark is a very useful skill in wvw, especially when running a power necro. ~4K direct aoe damage while cleansing conditions makes it one of my favorites.
