[PvP] Dealing with Thieves/Mesmers?
Only very good thieves should be a problem, or if you’re out of life force+luck
For thieves remember to use dagger 5, it weakens their hits, so does enfeebling blood, and dont turn your back to them. If they are condi, transfer and profit. I always keep staff5 for the shadow refuge.
I hate mesmers in pvp, but their cheese build is vulnerable to conditions, you need to dodge their bursts, and watch out for confusion…Just overload them, most of them will panick and start running , use signet of spite if he has just used his stealth
Well, there’s a couple of thing you can do… If you feel like they outcondition you, go for runes which decrease condi duration. You can AOE mesmer illusions with scepter #2, dagger #5 and DS #4, and against a thief don’t be afraid to use tainted shackles, even if he is the only person around you. Also, you should try to stack fear on the thief with staff #5 and DS #3. Also you must have the weakening shroud trait when dealing with a thief.
When I used to play DS power necro in pvp, thieves and mesmers weren’t an issue if you could lock them down. Lifeblast at close range decimates them. But a good mesmer or thief won’t get locked down in the first place so theirs that. For condition I’d try to use the various AoEs to make their stealth lives a lot harder.
Taking a break from GW2 to play various
Nintendo games..
As a thief player: Condi bombs (especially torment) with some fear chaining. The only way they’re clearing it even remotely well is if they have a very unlikely combination of “bad” utilities and are running a SA-based build. Thieves in general have arguably the poorest access to condition clears in the entire game.
