Hey guys, I made an alternate version of the meta power necro in pvp. It is basically a terrormancer power necro. Not sure if anyone runs it. just thought id share.

Spinal shivers becomes a 9s chill. You have the trait which casts that at 50% health as well. You sacrifice some damage to gain a lot of chill duration and fear duration.

ok so it’s a meta powermancer with an uncommon weapon choiche, fear duration trait and nightmare runes. i would call it more of a personal tweak than a different build…

only thing i really dislike is no warhorn, mobility is key to pvp. other than that i guess it works about as well as any other slight variation of the meta build.

Besides, terrormancers usually pick the terror trait so i’m not sure how it qualifies as a terror necro.

My apologies, still if you want to take out only the constructive parts i would still advise against not using a warhorn, mobility is key to rotating.

Basically this. You’re giving up a lot of really strong power traits for the fear damage, and without condi damage as a stat it’s just not enough damage to make up the loss.

I don’t think this build is such a bad idea. The extra chill can certainly work and I’m not a fan of Soul Marks so imo MoT is a viable alternative.
However, the condition damage on nightmare runes just gives too little synergy all for the sake of having a passive fear proc. If you moved more points into Curses for Terror you’d probably lose more damage than you gain. So maybe use Traveller runes instead, you’d get your movement speed without warhorn and a little condi duration on the side, not to mention more stat points that you actually need.

Thanks for the advice. I made this kind of out of the blue because a team mate thought I should run a terror build to keep enemies off point. I think traveler runes seems like a pretty good idea. I lose out on a fear though.

Terrormancer comes from the fear dealing damage trait “terror” , not he fear increasing duration trait “master of terror”.

Otherwise its the typical 2x wells build with axe/focus. The runes and sigils are a miss though, on this set travelrs works best.

Honestly since the most recent deathshroud nerfs I find myself taking ntd, vital persistence, and deathly perception on almost all of my power builds.

i run those 3 traits as well, i can’t count how many times those 3 seconds off DS cooldown saved my kitten

Wells with fear duration is also incompatible. If you’re going to trait for fear duration, use Spectral Wall for another fear instead of a well.

Frankly, you’re going to be severely kitten in building LF without Soul Marks, no reapers precision, no warhorn…especially at the start of a match.

You will also have zero speed/mobility with no spectral walk, no minion port, no warhorn, no travelers amulet or speed increase signet.

All of these negatives for a slightly extra duration on fear without terror???

We have the term terrormancer very clearly defined in th Necro community….. honestly I thought everyone knew what a terrormancer was…. but this makes more sense as why idiots call my power necro a cheese terror build sometimes.

By the way, I have a hard time to go back to terrormancer —> having close to no LF generation feels like being naked. I will probably take a warhorn even if I don’t trait it.
