you can stack 10-20 might with lots of chill which is almost perma
the burning can scale up to 6 stacks doing 2.5k dps
the poison can stack uo to 10-16 doing 1-1.5 dps
chill can do 400-800 dps
and direct dmg doing also 1-2k dps
it doesnt rip boons like the cele signet but does better dmg overall and great aoe effects with drak field and ice field and poison field
also took maraduer and it works fine too and also tried the MM version also with poison fields with blast and whirl combo
the only problem i had is i need some babysitting from my team because i will be the first target
was able to handle any condi builds (excepte mesmer)
hammer warrior could be problematic some times
thieves with d/p also can be bit problem in some build variation if they are patient enough
i like it overall but with GS its more group play rather than 1v1
I love it, but I do find it very hard to compete against classes with actual ranged options. I usally ran with staff in offhand to try and counter them, but that didnt realy work out, so started using scepter/dagger to try and CC them and get close.
I’m new to necro after falling in love with the reaper, so any tips from more seasoned PvP necros would be welcome.
Once I got close I had no issues handling pretty much anyone.
I went with this in the end which worked well for me. Tried the build you posted yesterday and it was good but i still wasnt a fan. Felt better with soldiers and GS.
After Bhwab said something about shouts i tried this one and it was also very fun to play.
Both builds are very tanky as well so no porblems with that. Especially in team fights because of low shout cooldowns or vs mesmers.
I tried soldiers shout reaper which wasn’t that bad, as I’ve said before, having augury of death give shouts another functionality would help a lot.
I’ve also tried cleric minion reaper, and I felt it was very good overall, I just think the shambling horrors need their health and bleeding slightly rebalanced to be less vulnerable to something like a well that can kill them instantly.

I’ve played Cleric Reaper MM , Soldier Shout , haven’t been messing around with much else after I played with other builds last time around, and I’m a lot more busy with homework.
The Soldier build was a ton of fun though, you get just below 3400 armor while in Shroud with Corrupter’s Fervor up, 2800ish power while in Death Shroud before might, you generate a lot of Life Force due to all the boons in teamfights, and you aren’t worried about conditions at all. It is absurdly tanky, especially once you factor in allies giving you boons on top of your own, and can still hold its own in 1v1s.

I personally took blood magic and spite for my shoutreap build, but I’ll give this a try too since it looks more bunkery. I’ll miss the transfusion rezzes though.

Yeah, I think there are multiple ways to build it, depending on what your goal is. Mine was less being support-y directly and more filling a role similar to the old Shoutbow.
Has anyone tried condi reaper? I saw Brazil`s BWE2 reaper impressions video and from the looks of it, condi reaper seems a lot better than base condi necro.

I tried Condi Reaper and had the most success with that rather than power. I played an equal amount of Conquest and Stronghold and Condi Reaper did pretty well at both, simply because Condi Reaper has more ranged options outside of Shroud. I really excelled against boon spamming classes like Engi, Ranger, Guard, etc. just because of that corruption on Shroud 2. The Condi spike isn’t as high as other popular condi builds out there but the pressure is overall greater.

My Power build was almost the same. Power Reaper w/ a GS wasn’t horrible as I expected tbh, in fact it was very strong in conquest where people have less room to kite you if they want to contest a point, whereas in Stronghold I had much more trouble and swapped back to traditional D/Wh. My biggest complaint is Grasping Darkness, I just cannot figure out how to land that thing. I’ve seen targets not get hit by it when they seem like they should and vice versa. And then of course the big thing: its a pull so 90% of the time they’ll get stuck on something and just fall to the floor.
Overall I love Reaper in PvP, I have a lot of fun playing it. What I would look at working on if I was Robert:
-Grasping Darkness, or maybe I need to git gud.
-Tinkering with the shouts just a little bit more. Suffer doesn’t transfer blind so it kinda gets screwed there, and the condi transfer never seems enough when there’s Plague Signet available (which is also a stun breaker). YSIM could use a little more healing, not a ton, but it doesn’t feel enough at times. The CD reduction is nice when there’s 5 so I can use it more but the healing from it doesn’t match the beating I’m probably taking. I haven’t tried Rise so no comment. NCSY should have 30 sec base CD instead of 35 and then I’d consider taking it especially against guards/engis. YAAW seems fine. A small addition to Augury of Death like Swiftness would work wonders I think. If you look at my build I’m taking Axe/Wh, and I’d rather take Staff for more AoE and utility but I need that swiftness just to not get kited.
-Soul Eater is just awful. It seems like a more PvE centered trait and that’s fine, some traits are that way and likewise some are more PvP oriented. But Decimate Defenses is so much better in both PvP and PvE, since it allows me to build more defensive with Valk/Cav gear while still maintaining my offensive potential. The life steal values would have to rival Vamp Rituals IMO but even then I don’t think I’d take it.
And probably the biggest one:
-NEXT TO NO BUILD DIVERSITY. If you want to run Reaper in PvP, Soul Reaping is absolutely mandatory simply because of Vital Persistence which just needs to be baseline at this point. I want to take things like Spectral Mastery, maybe Death Magic for that Corrupters Fervor/Condi Removal, or Blood for those Lifesteal/Rezzing traits but I can’t because Vital Persistence gives me better sustain than most of those traits ever will. I could run Reaper/SR/and then DM or BM but then I lack Spite which has great synergy with the Reaper spec for power builds and Curses, which also has great traits for condi reapers.
Been playing around with a Reaper Minion build in unranked solo with much success, focussing on keeping enemies chilled to stay on them and using toughness to power traits along with vitality stats.
Reaper 2-2-2
Spite 3-1-3
Death Magic 1-3-2
All sentinels armor
Svanir Rune
Soldier Amulet
Consume conditions, Bone minion, bone fiend, locust signet, flesh golem.
Very tanky and very face melty from the games i have been playing. I am newish to the game though so would appreciate feedback from more experienced players as to improvements and also where the build might lack.
Edit: using dagger warhorn offset, swarm pre engage for swiftness and cripple

I used this last night for a match and did all right with it. Highlight of the match was surviving three bursts from a Mesmer without leaving combat, even though the Mesmer kept backing off.
I’ve played Cleric Reaper MM , Soldier Shout , haven’t been messing around with much else after I played with other builds last time around, and I’m a lot more busy with homework.

Hmm… What are your thoughts on Soldier Reaper versus Celestial Reaper?
