My guess is they will buff siphon, but not enough to make it stand on its own. Hopefully then they can introduce some percentage of healing to work through DS as a minor trait in the blood tree (grandmaster level for instance).

I don’t think such a mechanic even needs to be traited. Really a 33% or 50% effectiveness on normal heals (not leeches) would be best in DS. The trick is to solve the problem of Necro attrition where by right now if you’re low health (300-500 health) and pop DS to last longer in the fight, players can wait/Ckittenil you exit DS and spike you before you even have a chance to get halfway through your heal cast. However, it can’t be too much healing because that would lead to Necros living forever. A necro that pops a DS with a good amount of LF (7-10 seconds worth) should be able to recoup at least 10% of their health if played right, 20%+ health if healing/leech spec instead of remaining at 1-3% and dieing instantly upon exiting.
Thank you. I understand (but not agree ) with not healing normal HP bar, but not getting even some % of LF is realy unfair design. And if that wouldnt be atrition then i dont know what would..

I think half healing effectiveness in Death Shroud (siphons not counted) would be good. 33% effectiveness is just begging for a bug with poison that negates all healing.
personally i think its unfair that not only can we not heal in DS but LF also degenerates over time. Shouldnt LF only be reduced while using attacks or taking damage?

Well there are really 2 roads they can take.
1. Reduce healing but some healing to your HP bar while in DS. This is the best solution in my opinion, because it really makes siphons something to consider, and transfusion, and the BM tree all together.
2. Generation of some or a % of life force from kills while in DS. Oddly enough this actually seems more likely, because of how spectral armor and spectral walk can now generate life force while in DS. They seem to at least be okay with DS going UP while in DS in certain circumstances.
Or they can do nothing, because they overdid our condition damage boost, and don’t know rightly how to undo it without making the community flip out (especially the PVE community).
I expect we will see a slow walk on this from them as they buff up condi-removal and reduce overall condi effectiveness…. but only time will tell.
I think a good trait would be 30 in Blood Magic, that allows siphons to heal through DS (maybe some other whatevers to make it worth 30 points). Also, it would make Blood Fiend SOOO much better if he could heal through DS.

Only real joy I’ve had back from Dev’s is… One plays a necro, he said the 1sec + lag before you get your heal button on your bar. Is annoying as hell, cause’s him unfair & unfun deaths. That’s getting fixed.
Dev’s in the past, said they were looking at doing something with heals. Because it sucks for other players to waste heals on us if were in DS. While we could take the cynical view of, they might just stop all heals going to the necro, ever so none are ever wasted… We can hope with the ‘fix’ to DS making it attached to our health bar, there’s a chance we might get 33% heals while in DS etc.
Other sort of related DS thing, that annoys the crap out of me. That I haven’t had a response to is… DS’s CD. I don’t think, the ‘exit death shroud’ should add a new CD to DS.
Go into DS, then if like 25% or less LifeForce, it’s faster & smarter to just let it ‘tick out’ then regen the LifeForce, than it is to exit and wait 10sec without being able to enter it again.
Some may see this is a exploit, but I simply feel it’s the way it SHOULD work. Seems most other ability CD from ‘on start’ not ‘on end’.

Almost every time I let DS burn out on its own, it does that bug that locks out my skills for 1-2 seconds. In fact that is the only time I have that bug. I basically never let it run out on its own if I can help it.
Especially now that damage can burn thru DS and into the normal health pool, being able to get at least a fraction of healing while in DS is necessary.
