Queen's Gauntlet = Death of the Necro
You can activate a condition→ gives an example of a single condition that doesn’t favor necros → Necros are dead.
Wut?
I was actually thinking after reading, that would be a nice equalizer. All those dodge roll spamming thieves are out of luck, and we don’t get to dodge much anyways.
I hope that the condition (what is probably a melancholic guy or something knowing A-nets icon creation like torment was a emo with earplugs to who someone turned on the gayphone/ipad at max sound) just stops evades, not dodge itself as a move, since its cool do a barrel roll and ignore slow effects for a bit even if you still take damage.
im thinking in NO STEALTH vs a thief and im just PLEASED in my head

The issue is that ANet is probably going to be putting some achievements for the gambits (seeing how they put achievements for the stupidest things, like not getting hit by cannon barrage in AR or T1/T2/T3/T4)

Ummm Queen’s Gauntlet isn’t a PvP thing. Its the solo arena where you fight champion mobs and stuff like a gladiator arena.

Yes, in Fractals you can change a number to increase the difficulty of the Fractals. Gambits are completely different, however, in that you activate a specific condition. For example, completing the challenge without being able to dodge.
So basically a gambit in the Queen’s Gauntlet removes the ability to dodge. That is the ONLY thing a necro has to avoid large amounts of damage. We have no invulnerability/stealth/evade/reflect/block. Fear/Weakness/Blind/whatever other CC’s a necro has are worthless due to Defiant and Unshakeable. Great job making an event that renders a Necro’s defensive capabilities useless.
We haven’t tried this yet. My initial reaction would be almost the polar opposite. Necro’s were designed to not rely on dodge, so I would think this may put us on a better footing than some professions.
Granted we won’t be as well off as professions that have lots of access to teleports, aegis, blocks or stealth, but we may be ok.
For 1v1, I’d think that a tank necro with a decent amount of self healing may stand a good chance – lots of heals, pet heals, good access to death shroud and you can use your pets as meat shields.

I have a feeling that well played minion necro could do VERY well in this kind of encounter (depending on aoe damage)
I think I should remove this quote given the recent developement.
Bad logic is bad.

They can evade with skills. They don’t need to activate dodge.

Step 1) Build to generate Deathshroud
Step 2) Build to have access to Deathshroud more often
Step 3) Win at everything.

use skills to evade. flanking strike, evade shot etc.
That isn’t the point. The point is Necromancers don’t rely all that much on dodges; we only get one every 10 seconds, compared to classes with vigor that get up to double that. It means that it is holding back far less from us than it would be for other classes, comparatively.
