It says life transfer heals nearby allies, does that healing apply to you as well or do you not get any personal benefit from the trait?

Yes and no. No, because normally you are in Death Shroud, where all healing is blocked. The nice thing is that the trait does not appear to try to heal you, so you don’t take up part of the 5-target cap.

Yes, because if you start Life Transfer just as you are about to run out of life force, you will continue the channel after leaving death shroud and heal yourself on each remaining pulse.

Okay, but its not a way to heal in death shroud like the regen will be on the 15th? Thanks for any information given as it is helping me create a new necro build

Correct. It only heals you if you run out of life force while channelling.

Unless we hear otherwise in reference to the new Death trait, it will be the only healing Necro gets while in DS; all other healing sources will still be blocked.

Because that is the worst possible interpretation and this is the Necromancer class we are talking about after all.

So keep that in mind when theory crafting a new build.
