Why is axe a preferred weapon for wells? This is what I’m currently running for PvE

I’ve tried axe and to me, it just doesn’t seem to deal as much damage as dagger. I could be wrong, but its what it seems like to me personally.

I think most would agree that dagger is better for wells due to the immobilize.

Axe is really only best for using while traited with death shroud. But not with wells.

Where did you hear axe is prefered for wells? Oo

As Roe said, dagger is better because of the immobilize it gives.

I’ve just been browsing the necro forums for a while and I always see everyone recommending axe/warhorn, never dagger/warhorn

He probably means from ascii’s wellomancer build which uses axe.

That build is more specific to group fighting. Dagger is probably your best bet.

The only time I would say Axe is better than Dagger for a well build would be in large group battles in WvW, where Axe #3 becomes very good for the boon strip and retaliation, and where you may not always be in range for melee.
