Rabid or Berserker
Depends on whether you want to play as a power based (direct damage) or conditions necro.
If you want power based, berserker is definately the way to go. I’d add in some pieces of knights or soldiers to help your health until you get the feel of it, then swap out later.
Condition necro I cant tell you much about.

I would prefer condition damage build but i’m willing how to play “direct damage” build too.
Depends what type of group you are playing with. If you plan on being in one of those casual groups where everyone ranges you may aswell go condi with rabid. If you want to be as effective as possible in an efficient group, go melee with beserker.
Power build:
30/0/10/0/30
might on blast, axe training, CtD/Greater Marks/piercing blast, mark life force, 50% crit
well of suffering, blood is power, whatever (take utility based on situation. signet of spite, spectral wall/walk, undeath signet, another well, etc)
Full zerker
axe/dagger, staff
Rely on DS to do damage and only active DS when on Axe/dagger for axe training bonus dmg.
As for condi build, you probably want a variation of condi-wells for PvE. Full condi with feardot isn’t going to be that great in PvE due to defiant.
In a coordinated group (that means might and furybuffs) Dagger/Warhorn + Dagger/Focus deals more damage then DS.

This. Although even in an uncoordinated group it should be more dps than using DS.

I think carrion is better than rabid for condition necros.

Yep, I barely tested yesterday using 30/10/0/0/30 build with 47% crit rate which with trait makes DS crit rate almost 100%.
However, dagger takes 2 cycle to take down a mob, DS takes 3 hits, axe takes forever. Time wise it’s about the same for dagger and DS. But in DS you sacrifice heal, utility, have to worry about life force and such, just not worth it imo.
Although it’s not a very thorough test, I think I’ll still stick to dagger.
For PvE, I’d def recommend power over conditions.
I personally use 30/0/10/20/10.

On blood, can swap BloodThrist & Transfusion around for group support. Wells & Vamp Precision. Dagger for faster CDs if you prefer staby staby.
Spite Axe for Marks tho 10% of power isn’t huge. (Less than 1dps increse). Might on DS1 for 50% downed dam can help in hard places as 1target fear isn’t exactly good at keeping ya safe while down.
You can also swap around traits for faster minion CD & more minion dam for boring farming wimpy mobs in magic find gear.
Anyway, that’s my swis army knife for PvE build(s)

power build with Berserker gear mate? or gear with power as main stat? Thanks for that!
If you play main casual group, I would recommend condition build.
If you want to kill as fast as possible, go power with berserker. (but mind you that is like mimicking a zerker warrior)
