For anyone who ever played City of Villains, what if DS functioned in a similar way to the Dominator class’ Domination ability? A short lived buff (restrained within the duration of lifeforce) that maybe increased condition duration,damage, and possibly granted stability? The DS skills could simply be removed and you would have access to your normal skill bar. This would make our class ability useful to all builds and still keep its flavor for prolonging a fight through an extra hp bar. This would have to be carefully tested to prevent damage going incredibly high or making the necro impossible to deal with during the duration thanks to stability. Just a random idea that hit me while bored this morning. Thoughts?

Keeping access to our spells/utilities/weapons skills could be interesting, now DS would give you a “real” second hp bar. Even without buffing anything it would be cool

They’re working on DS UI, just been able to use/see our utilities would be a nice welcomed change.

Allowing us full use of our abilities while in a “god-mode” situation would be problematic. Adding a buff on top of that would be overkill.

I wouldn’t call shroud god mode by any stretch of the imagination, even with a short stability attached. Even with the trait to slow lf decay most classes can shred ds before you can even use all four skills once. Of course I’m also not suggesting healing being possible during either.

DS as a whole just feels like such a random band-aid of an ability as it stands. Sure it makes a decent oh crap block to soak a nasty burst hit now and then, but it lacks depth of use. It could be made interesting and useful to all builds and playstyles, but currently is neither interesting or even all that useful most of the time. When people are using their class ability to leap off cliffs to save travel time, it seems like a terrible waste. This is of course just my opinion so take it for what it’s worth.
