Dothraken reminds me too much of Skyrim.
Mine necromancer is called Rahh Domweaver (sylvari)
Or here try this one…
Name: Kira Bloodfallen
Gender/Race: Female Human
Reason: Uber vampire, yet dark too. The name is based on Shalltear Bloodfallen name from Overlord anime. Yet, due to the nature of that name taking up so many places, had to shorten it. So “Dark Lady whose Blood is gone” was born.
Though in all honesty, I know vampiric build isn’t that strong, but the whole reason I made Kira Bloodfallen was to play a character that is in a fan fiction story I’m making with friends in RP on another game is the sister of Shalltear Bloodfallen, which for me I love.

Nobody reviewed mine (Caerridwen), so imma just review more until senpai notices me. (:P)

6/10, fits surprisingly well in Tyria but would belong on a charr more. At least the last name would.

5/10; not only the Skyrim thing, but the Dothraki in Game of Thrones are a thing. The first name is great though.
Caerrdwen sounds really cool! Sounds very sylvari. If you need is sylvari 8/10 if not 6/10 haha my Necs Name is Saria Bloodshed!
Asura necromancer ……. The Shadowmeister.
Male Sylvari- Leaft for Dedd -emo/punk look
I’ve been using Dothraken as a surname for my characters since before Skyrim and before I read GoT. I started doing it in Pen and Paper D&D campaigns.
The reason it turns up in GoT and Skyrim is that it is from Norse languages and sort of means Death Touch.
Saria Bloodshed, I will give that name a 7/8. Are you using a sword or dagger for shedding blood?
My male Sylvari Necromancer’s name is, Count Dispatch. It means to respectfully dispose of a threat rapidly and effectively, which I do with the help of my minions. However, if there are more than two enemies than I respectfully run.
9/10 for ‘Count Dispatch’ I do like that.
My 2nd necro:
Name: Aellenah
Race: Sylvari
Gender: Female
The name is a derivation of the name ‘Ellena.’ The root of which is Greek meaning “Man’s Defender.” Figured it fit, considering the Sylvari PC’s Wyld Hunt is to ‘slay a dragon’ and essentially protect the world.

9/10 I really like the name a lot, and it’s meaning fit’s really well.
I really like that this thread has taken off and evolved, I hope that people reading through the names feel inspired when naming their necromancers in the future.

My necros name is Demonic Vanquisher – rate it, Please
Sorry mate 5/10, doesn’t seem like a name, more like a title.
Name: Zadakan
Race: Norn
Gender: Not female
Name: Zoso the Wise
Race: Human
Gender: Male
The reason for the name is kinda generic. He is a scholar of life and death. Zoso because Im a Led Zeppelin fan and names with the letter Z tend to fit spell caster classes XD

Yeah, Caerridwen is indeed a salad. :P
My toon is callled Neck Romancer… asura .. male.. ;-)
Name: Caldonia Crow
Race: Human
Gender: Female
Tripped over a jump blues song from Louis Jordan called “Caldonia” when I was browsing youtube, and thought it sounded nice. Just added “Crow” for a little dark-ish touch to the whole name.
My toon is callled Neck Romancer… asura .. male.. ;-)
I lol-ed hard at this.
And then random thought – blood based necro….vampiric. Mental image of a tiny asura (which have pointy teeth to begin with) chasing people trying to bite them (Vampiric Bite). I cannot stop laughing.
10/10

Name: Alodar Dorin
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Alodar Dorin actually has quite a long history. I first created him as a necro in a MUD (Multi- User Dungeon, text based online RPG) game back in the 1990’s. Since then he has been a vast number of, generally, magic wielding characters, and even played a brief role in a short story I wrote where he earned the title “Lord of Shadows” after killing his mentor Yaxin. He briefly saw life (or rather un-life) as a vampire from the World of Darkness: Vampire the Masqurade RPG but the group fell apart and he never really got developed more then a short back story.
It’s the chain I beat you with until you
recognize my command!”

8/10 I like the way it rolls off the tounge.
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Name: Zirael Umbra
Idea: Had decided on making him a Reaper. “Umbra” is latin for Shadow. It is also the name of the darkest and innermost part of a shadow (theres the Umbra, penumbra and antumbra). Zirael I got from a fantasy generator.

Thanks :-)
Sorry for so long a post! Hi all I ran across this, and thought why not share. My necromancer’s name is Lady De Muerte which is spanish for Lady of Death. She does have a backstory that I had put alot of thought into since the beginning of GW2. In Gw1 I had created a necromancer then named Shinigami for GW1 Factions.
A necromancer, and martial artists, she had combined both. Using her connection to mysticism she invokes the power of her chi to perform her skills. She had helped defeat Shiro, and again assisted in destroying the minions of Primordus. She disagrees with the emperor’s desire to shut himself off to the rest of the world and takes her leave, later taking Lady as her disciple.
A noblewoman by birth to the Velasquez family which is a derivation of “Vela” which means crow. She begins her training, continuing her quest to become stronger, and a guardian of balance which ultimately led her to face and and help in defeating Zhaitan with the heros of Tyria.
Lady’s training in her martial arts allows her to invoke Yan to conjure and request the aid of ancient spirits to fight by her side.
Flesh Golem – ancient warrior once again called to battle
Shadow Fiend – the ghost of an assassin
Bone Fiend – once an archer in a previous life known for their skill with the bow
Bone Minions – spirits of faithful retainers who will die willingly for their master
Flesh Wurm – guardian spirit, famous in life for their protective nature
Shambling Horror – faithful bodyguards in life to past emperors
Jagged Horror – notorious killers whom had relished in bloodshed
Blood Fiend- a priest in life whom had healed the sick and injured
Wearing her skull mask to honor her ancestors, and the dead she continues her path to master her wushu style of necromancy. Having reached the next plateau of her training she has unlocked her spirit potential, using her martial arts, and magic to harm her enemies by corrupting their chi, causing wounds that bleed, toxicify the blood, make it so every step brings you closer to death, weakens your body, and even freezes your very heart and soul.
She is not evil nor good, but like her sifu before her, she believes in balance of Yin and Yang, light, and dark, life and death. Neither can exist without the other, the dead whom do not wish to rest, so called demons, the dragons and even other necromancers whom wish to abuse or create imbalance, are her typical enemies.
(Her wushu would be a mystical and dark variation of Tien-Hsueh or Hien-Hsueh, touch mastery martial arts which targets the enemies vital points on their body)
again apologies for the long post!
2nd pic is her having opened herself up to Yan, letting it share into her soul

10/10 Crimson.
Absolutely love the fully thought out background. My primary necro has a history behind her as well (GW1 descendant and all, not really a role-play background though). Not sure the forums appreciate reading a book though (but I do!).
Golemancer Zimm, Asuran Necro.
The Golemancer title was inspired after running through Oola’s lab, where she had expiremented combining Necromancy with her golems. And Zimm is a reference to the Invader Zim tv series.

8/10 for an interesting coincidence.

No one before me, I just continue.
Name: Diabolist Gehenna
Race: Asura
Gender: Female
Diabolist is a synonym for Satanist. Gehenna is the Hebrew word for Hades or Hell.

Made another Necro (I’m addicted to this class…)
Name: Osirus Nocturnus
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Origin(s): Osirus is a name of an Egyptian God of Death, and Nocturnus is Latin for, “Of or belonging to the night, nocturnal”.
Haven’t leveled him yet, so, I can’t show off his ghastly apparel…..yet…

Lol. That’s awesome. Makes me even happier.
Nice name “Diabolist Gehenna” from FlashGamer.4017
Here is mine, simple
Name: Master
Race: Norn
Gender: Male
3/10 for “Master” as a name. It’s more of a title and boring….but +1 for simpleness I guess.
Also +1 to all the pun names so far.
My necros:
Asura Female: Cryppte
> As in Crypt like where you bury the dead. Her name was originally Death Became Her as launch, but I changed it sometime later to be more in-line with standard Asura naming schemes.
Charr Male: Ghul Doomslash
> Ghul has one of those faces that not even his mother can love. They even had to tie meat around his neck to get the devourers to get near him. He joined the Doom warband and slashes away at his foes.
Sylvari Female: A Woman Thorned
> Because you know a woman thorned is twice as deadly.
Sylvari Female: Hummuscide
> Deadly chickpeas!
Sylvari Female: Bloomin Bunion
> If you’ve never eaten at Outback Steakhouse…it’s a play on “Bloomin Onion”
Cryppte
6/10 – Not overly inventive but still a fitting name and I always liked the word crypt.
Ghul Doomslash
7/10 – For a bit more effort but im not a huge fan of Diablo-style names (i.e Bonefang, Deathbringer, etc). I do like the first name though.
Hummuscide
9/10 – Love it.
Bloomin Bunion
8/10 – I get the reference and I just like the sound of it lol
As for mine
Human Male: Count Minus
Role: Blood Mage
- A little play on words and he’s my go-to blood magic / blood mage type necromancer. Always fitted with blood reds and has some very elegant blood red hair.
Asura Male: Dr. Clankinbones
Role: Minion Master
- I wanted a sortof “frankenstein” feel to my little asura so thats what sortof came to be. Grimnox was his original name so technically he could be Dr. Grimnox Clankinbones.
Sylvari Male: Nether De Greed
Role: Chillmancer
- Another play on words. Nether De Greed is taking “nether degree” or “below zero” and fitting it into an old french-style name with the added “greed” to spark a sense of want. This is all due to him being my chillmancer.
I have a Male Human named Jacques The Reaper.
Because someone beat me to Jack The Reaper…

Rahh Doomweaver is my necromancer name. If some wants to rate.
Name: Master
Race: Norn
Gender: Male
I’d have given you a 7/10 had you had a “The” in there for the Doctor Who reference. Kind of “meh” otherwise.
Name: Karyn Desera
Race: Human
Gender: Female
Name: Nhaggi
Race: Asuran
Gender: FemaleSource of name: Play on the names ‘Nag’ and ‘Nagaina’ from Rikki-Tikki-Tavi. I loved the cartoon as a kid.
Edit: And for those that haven’t seen it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgWVjJfL7-o
There was a cartoon??
You have changed my life this day.
It was my favourite Jungle Book story.

6/10, I really like how it sounds but deducted marks for not rating anyone’s =P
My necromancer is Miach Morgtha.
Male, Norn.
Miach was the old Irish god of healing. His father Oghma, the god of knowledge, grew jealous of his son’s medicinal skills and killed him in a rage. Or tried to. Miach kept repairing the damage his father dealt. In total Oghma dealt 3 deathblows to his son before the damage became too great for Miach to heal.
And morgtha is the Irish word for rotten or decaying.
The general idea is that he didn’t stay dead.
