Reaper Shouts: "...and your allies..."
yep Necro still feels like a selfish class even with the new potential blood trait changes
People can never be satisfied tho.
Extremely gross generalization there, Sticker, but there’d be a lot more to be satisfied about if those shouts offered SOME KIND of group support, which is one of two things that the necro sorely missed. The other, it got, which would be good cleaving DPS.

And we get unique, necroey Group support within the rework-in-progress Blood Magic it seems. A vampiric aura and transfusions being able to ress.
Aswell as (kind of) one of the other desired changes, “allow healing through DS”. Sihpons/Transfusions will now heal through Deathshroud. And with the Reapers Shroud having a LF generating #1 chain, you might just stay long enough in DS to get a quite nice heal through that.
The shouts ARE supportive, THEY ARE TO DISABLE THE ENEMIES FROM HARMING YOUR ALLIES. Really why is this necromancer forum filled with kittens
Blood Magic changes…core specializations…base necro…

Because in PVP, they can be cured or stun-breaked when it’s group vs group. Directly effecting your allies would be nice. But I understand Anets point of view for the Necro Shout’s focusing on damage and impairment, not overlapping with Warrior and Guardian shouts. Otherwise they’d just be the same.
As far as spvp goes this will be a great mid point fighter. The AoE damage, more durability than normal power necros, lots of chill, AoE weakness shout, nice vuln, high crit chance in tanky gear, sounds great overall. Not sure it will do much for the PvE meta but it will at least be stronger than the current dagger build.
They did the best possible thing: they acknowledged that our PvE issues are an issue with the base profession and will not be fixed solely through specializations. This should have immediately made people realize they were on board with what was happening, this is better than expecting our specialization to be mandatory to “work”.
