With the buff to axe, I am looking to try my power axe build again. Would like to ask for opinions though on which is more suitable for solo roam, mainly interested in solo fights during roaming. Reaper or vanilla necro? Power axe build. I dont mind not being able to escape outnumbered fights, but would like to have a stronger build for solo fights against the current meta. Thanks!
Also do u solo roamers stand any chance against a good staff longbow druid? How about berserkers with their many stuns and primal healing?
Is my current build okay for the meta? Does it need change?

I would go for reaper. Yes its melee but it has deaths charge. I like having more mobility for roaming.
Both are passable, but you need to maintain some semblance of mobility for optimal WvW play. If you’re Reaper, great. If you’re base Necro, however, I highly recommend running Spectral Walk and/or Flesh Wurm. The mobility is not only thoroughly entertaining and allows you to do fun things like S-Walk Stomp, but being capable of getting out of situations about to go bad is something that core Necro desperately needs. Another thing is keep your eyes peeled for ambient creatures; they are, in fact, valid Dark Path targets.
I’ve been using both Power Reaper and Necro in roaming to good effect for quite some time. It’s in the approach more than anything else.
what are your success rates against druids and berserkers though?
I don’t think I’m too bad of a reaper/necro but I weep when I fight them in the current meta.
druids too much range and mobility. they kite and knockback my reaper and necro to the death.
berserkers have too much healing on primal bursts which is hard for a power reaper/necro whose main ways of negating is to tank using shroud…even if you dodge his stun, his follow up primal burst like axe will still be within range of you and you need to use another dodge again =/ if you eat his stun, you need to waste a stun break and then dodge is primal burst =/ we don’t have so many stun breaks and dodge to last the fight =/

Meta? Not even close, you’re basically cannon fodder. A mixture of marauder’s and soldier’s is probably better since you need survival against other roamers. Sigil of force is also going to outperform sigil of strength.
The thing with power necro is it’s all spike damage, so slow-building things like might stacking aren’t going to build, so sigil and runes of strength are not doing you many favors.
You want wells for clearing camps.
You’re not generating a lot of chill, but have a lot of traits based on it.
These changes might help you out, if nothing else the traits:
Druids are a pretty terrible matchup for necro. You may do better if you’re power tho.
Druid and Berserker are painful matchups, especially if you’re Necro, but that isn’t news. As for the build you linked, you’re pretty soft to melee pressure due to your weapon choices. That’s something that comes with the package of playing Power Necro and needing to pick weapon sets, unfortunately. I’m just pointing it out. I don’t like Strength on the Staff; the weapon is generally too slow and utility based to get a lot of value out of it. You’d be better off with Agility or Energy. You can drop some amount of Precision and Power to increase your Armor by a bit, since you’re super glassy. The thing with Power Necro is while Hesacon is correct in that a lot of our damage comes from spike, if you simply build glass then you fold to a lot of the classes that frontload all of their damage, like Dragonhunter. You can make the argument that DH and Berserker are bad matchups anyway, so you might as well just go full glass to try and “cheese” (read: simplify) the encounters with surprise burst, but I’m not personally a large fan of the philosophy.
GS is kind of scary if you can touch your opponent. It’ll give a lot more melee pressure too.

Your are right that strength is not the best for staff but you kinda want the strength sigil in shroud when you take blighters boon so i think it is fine .
None, make a warrior.
I play both at times. Both are good and have their own strengths.
I enjoy vanilla Necromancer but truthfully, Reaper is better.
My siphon build does quite well against Druids if I can avoid Ancient Seeds. It does well against pretty much everything in fact besides evade/stealth heavy things like Daredevils and Chronomancers.
Druids often let the conditions tick on them which is a big part of what my build’s sustain relies on (Parasitic Contagion). So as long as I can maintain a few conditions on them and can avoid getting Immobilize locked down, I usually end up out lasting them. I think that comes down more to skill than build, however. The really good ones are smart enough to not feed my Life Force when Spectral Armor is up and will CC on leaving stealth so I can’t avoid the lockdown, though. In which case their advantages will trump my skill.
Over all, Reaper is undeniably better, but I think it’s important to play with what you’re best with. I win plenty of fights as a vanilla Necromancer with all the disadvantages that everyone is familiar with because it’s what I find most comfortable.
