Hello!

After running some matches on Reaper, I have noticed a design flaw that makes them immensely powerful in 1v1 situations. When using shouts on vines (such as entangle), mesmer clones, and other pets (ranger) the reaper is given an advantage over those players by default.

With rangers, Entangle + Pet + Ranger can spawn 3 shambling horrors with “Rise!” giving me an advantage over the ranger – an additional spawned minion (Technically two, with the pet getting hit as well), and reduced cooldown for all my shouts for each person I hit.

With one person I can hit 3/5 of my targets needed to reduce the cooldown by 35%.

In addition, against mesmers ( this one is ok ), i can hit all 5 targets.

I think they would need to no longer hit roots just to be fair to rangers, otherwise they stand no chance.

Eh not a big deal.

The extra shambling horror won’t make as much of a difference as you think, and in general if a ranger or mesmer is allowed to bring extra entities into the fight by their design in order to gain an advantage on you, shouldn’t personal counterplay be just as fair?

Its also probably a more important balance issue regarding locust signet’s active heal, but if you have a necro going up against a mesmer, thats needed to help even the matchup when most good mesmer players will counter most non condi/hybrid necro builds conditional on the amount of life force the necro has at the start of the 1v1.

I am running death magic, sould reaping and reaper (ofc) with traveler runes and marauder / soldier amulet …. with soldier i could withstand thief and ele in 2v1 for at least 2 minutes then i screwed my LF rotation
+ having problem with druids cuz they are healing a lot ! so if you dont CC lock them then you are as good as dead in long term

Abilities: Shout heal, WoS, Suffer, PS and Shout ult

At this point, the only thing killing my condi reaper are really good thieves, and even then its a close fight, and the meta slow/interrupt chrono spec that i saw in the beta, but havent seen after.
