Hey all. As the title says, I’ve been gone from the game for a long time. Last time I REALLY played was 2012 Xmas events. I don’t remember at all builds or armor sets for Necromancers and how it all works.

Need a little help catching up to the new and refreshing my mind of the old. What gear/weapon sets should I go for? How do gems/infusions/sigils and all that jazz work? What would be the best PvE build for both solo and group/dungeon play? Best wep setups for said build. Also, is switching builds convenient or do I have to manually do it every time?

First off, those are a lot of questions.

1. Basic armor – you will want exotic armor. Do you have some, already? It does not matter so much what the stats are, whatever people say, but it will affect your play style and weapons load. Cleric’s armor, for example, has no precision and is heavy on healing along with power and toughness. You can run a de-tuned hybrid build with it by traiting Spite and Curses, same as a de-tuned conditionmancer, minionmancer, or powermancer. Jewelry can help get enough precision if you want to crit frequently.

2. MM got a lot stronger. Minions were put on a tight leash and had their health and damage buffed. They are no longer an embarasment.

3. Signet of Vampishness is an embarasment. Do not bother with it unless you are so secure in your play skills that you are willing to sacrifice a part of your heal and your condition clears to add a tiny bit more team dps.

4. Runes, sigils, and core mechanics for Necromancer will all be tweaked, soon, and we are waiting anxiously for astounding improvements that will change our play styles.

If you do not have much gold or crafting materials and need an exotic set, check if you have enough karma to buy an exotic temple armor. They are not that bad. Although it is more difficult to farm karma than it was, it still has limited use outside of obsidian shards, temple armor, and lower cost items.
