Revenant sucks! Who is happy? =D
I might actually strangle myself if I see another person kitten about Revenant when it isn’t even half finished and still heavily in beta.

Let me reformulate my phrase.
Revenant SUCKS in current state!
But yeah, you still going to see a lot of this.
For now it does but the question is will it take as long as it did for necro to improve them?

(1) lots of group support fields and finishers
Problems
(1) no blocks
(2)Emphasis on healing, which just isn’t good in GW2
Problems that can be fixed by tweaking numbers
(1) long cast times
(2) Low Damage
There’s good material to start with. The Revenant is not limited by a “can’t do anything useful theme,” and its DPS is not limited because of “utility skills do DPS so weapon skills do less damage, but you can’t even use those DPS utilities because you need to take stun breaks”
Still, the synergies between the tanks weapon and legend, the condition weapons and legend, and the healing weapon plus legend…. These were clearly built or each other, but they aren’t working o great o far.
It took players a while to figure out elementalist rotations. Without the proper traits and rotations, the class doesn’t do that much damage and dies upper fast. The Revenant is unfinished and its going up against people playing their class for 2 years.

“No blocks”. Yeah but a 50% uptime wall that negates every projectile they are facing which could be disastrous in eg. WvW. And pulsing their conditions to up to 5 enemies, which with the current burning could prove disastrous for PvP cause if they eat the burn and bleed they could instantly melt a 5 man team. And as seen by the “Necromancer so op in PvP” dude running around, players are mostly too stupid to consider NOT loading a profession that eats and reflects condis with ammo… So yeah, even it its current state there would be “Revenant OP” claims. And it will just get worse with the damage legend.
ppl also complaining about dmg it does need to relaize the DPS Traitline is the ONE MISSING as Anet clearly said…. And Iam betting that synergize alot better with both Corruption and Invocation then anything we see atm. Patience is the key to happiness and surely something we should be used to here on the Necro Forums.

While Revenant is not finished, low on numbers etc. I don’t think it sucks.
I believe it’s awesome. Extremaly challenging with Energy management, satisfying with mostly interesting skills.
But oh my, resource management. That’s just beautiful. And Mallyx’s utilities. Oh my, lh my!

Yeah the community can’t seem to understand that rev isn’t doing great in the physical dps department because it’s missing it’s dps legend and trait line.. and they are also in the middle of throwing a tantrum because they couldn’t manage their energy resource well after playing it for 5 minutes.

I’m not having an issue with their DPS. Running full condi. The only issue I’m really having is torment needs to last a bit longer in PvE. Arena net really needs to split the skills for PvE and PvP. And grant higher condi duration for some stuff. Torment is just weaker than bleed in PvE most the time. It doesn’t need to be such a short duration.

I spent an hour dueling my friends yesterday playing a class that I’m not familiar with and I still whooped their butts on a 1v1 but by the end of the hour they were doing much better than when we started so they are bound to be better once they are complete.

The traitline is meaningless the most important thing thats missing is the dps weapon set. a lot of the meta builds dont even touch the power traitling and still put out significant damage through conditions or crits. (trapper ranger, medi guard, d/d cele)
tbh i am sad how the revenant is in it´s current state as i have planned to play one. Yes it´s not finished and yes there are legends missing but i have 0 confidence in Anet any more. What they have done since release to the classes told me a lesson. I am sure they have some ideas how the revenant should be in their view but player feedback will be ignored like they always ignore it. So maybe by accident they will make the revenant decent somehow but i doubt it.

Actually, Revenant Staff 3 is a block, so… yeah…
I haven’t played it I watched a lot of streams and read up on it, but it looks very different from a Necro so I don’t see a real comparison to be made as if it would replace the Necro because it does Necro things better.

Yea the Weapon Set focusing on DPS is ofc equally important but the DPS Traitline is not meaningless, even if its no passive stat boost anylonger there is still a clear-cut DPS trait-line for all classes and thats the one we missing atm. It will most likely have crucial Traits that will in some way effect dmg output so your reasoning is flaud.
Same as saying Spite is meaningless for Necro dps, when in fact the might stacking traits clearly boost our dmg output.

It usually takes more than 1 spec line and 1 weapon set to build for dps on a class. So revenant doesnt look like its going to be good unless they do some major changes between now and HoT. That mostly means number tweaks on the weapons. But there should also be a little more choice in the other spec lines. Theres literally nothing in the 4 current spec lines that i would want to take. So its going to be a 1 spec class going by current direction.

Keep in mind that might stacking and vuln stacking traits only boost dps in suboptimal groups. They are essentially worthless the rest of the time. Which is why classes that have a huge amount of damage modifier traits are so strong (ele and thief). Necro didnt even have these vuln and might traits previously. Now at least we can be a little stronger solo. But we are still rather weak in groups.

Lol, people really said that? A class with slow cast times, low amount of stunbreakers and low amount of condion clears which were replaced with stab and resistance without cover boons would beat a necro?

its because even though Revenant was revealed incomplete, it was a heck of a start. Condis all over the place, high stability up time, the crazy elites, people simply filled in what they expect was missing like the active defenses and dps and came to the conclusion that once the class is complete it will over shadow necro.

I don’t think Revenants will over shadow necro. Even if its missing 1 trait line, 1 legend and maybe 1 weapon, i don’t know. So far the only good thing there is support and high stab uptime.
rev is trash. it falls under necro and will stay there when it goes live.
