I’ve been playing necro since release, it’s the only class in gw2 i fully enjoy playing.

At this moment I’m playing this updated condition build when roaming:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fQIQNArdWjMad7tbWb07JAJFPDdkijDm6B8pfOA-jEyAINBRaBEVBg8AmDLiGbFtIasKZioa1NmQAKmDA-w

(Not really sure on the last utility skill, took grasp to pull ppl towards the wall a second time. Used to run corrupt boon, but with the nerf I can’t justify it’s use anymore, focus does it better with lower cd imo.)

Now I wanna mix things up a little bit and make a power set for roaming aswell (not solo roaming, but if you have a build fit for that even better).
I have 0 experience with what to go for as a power necro. I tried going for a a build which uses well of suffering with 3 minions for the Death Nova trait. But that doesn’t work when I blow my minions up myself (poison cloud works, the new dmg part does not) so found it what disappointing.
So I was hoping if seasoned power necros could help me on my way, inlight of the new updates.

Much obliged

That really depends on your play-style, do you want advice on a tanky build, or a berserker build? Maybe well focused? Possibly sustain to whittle an opponent while you laugh, or straight up burst damage to rofl-stomp people into the ground with a lopsided falcon punch?

Gear wise would be zerker weapons, knight armor and cavalier/valkyrie trinkets.
Other than that I have no clue skill & trait wise haha.

Looks like you want to run more of a semi-gc build then (similar to what I run, works wonders, especially against unsuspecting gc thieves). If you want to run more offensive traits I suggest using Axe/Focus/Dagger traited for 30/0/0/10/30 with VI VIII and XII in spite, V in blood, and then III V XII in soul.

Reapers might will be good because your main form of auto-attacking with be ds 1; Axe training is nice because Axe 2 is your ranged burst (and also continues to hit thieves after they stealth if you start to channel when they are visible), and Axe 3 gives retaliation; Close to Death is really nice because the 20% extra damage applies to all of your damage sources; Vampiric precision is good because you will have a high critical rate, especially in ds, so being able to get health back constantly is really nice; Path of might is fun because everyone loves cd reduction, especially on ds 3, 4, and 5; Speed of Shadows can be swapped out with Unyielding Blast or Close to Death, I just like having 25% faster ms in combat to give me a little edge on melee classes; and finally Deathly Perception is great because 50% critical while in ds will bring you close to 100% chance, which means heavy hits that increase each time from might, possible vulnerability on them, and give you health back.

For utilities I run Consume Conditions as my heal (always good to use), Well of Suffering for close-proximity damage and application of vulnerability, Spectral Armor for a stun break that also gives protection, and a situational utility that normally switches between Blood is Power for might and a small bleed, Corrupt boon if I’m facing a boon stacker and I’m feeling lucky that it will actually work, and spectral Grab for pulling people off of walls, or grabbing people that are running away from me if I’m feeling even more lucky than using Corrupt Boon. Elite I mix it up between Lich Form and Flesh Golem depending on if I want knockdown for burst, or knockback + annoying minions + piercing shots from Lich Form. Hopefully sharing my thoughts and reasons behind a serker build helps you decide if you want to mix anything up or not depending on your play-style.

Edit: Axe Mastery can also be swapped out for Chill of Death if you find yourself using dagger, ds, or Lich form a lot more than the Axe, as the free chill/boon rip/damage when they hit 25% hp is also very nice.

This isn’t a roaming build specifically, but this is what I’ve been tinkering with in WvW since yesterday :
http://intothemists.com/calc/?build=;00;3kHFJ0D4gJ-K0;9;49J9-T5;053-1;357A6-F05;9K-l51-o090;0VAVFWKXP2V3a_91-370B-7V-17V;9;9;9;7VVVVVV;9;0V6-6q
(edit: there seems to be a bug in the link, the grandmaster trait in soul reaping is supposed to be Foot in the Grave)

I definitely welcome any feedback or criticism. It’s very flavor of the month in that it leverages the changes of yesterday’s patch. I’m not too sure about Reaper’s Might/Unyielding blast, but the patch notes seem to invite us to sit in DS and auto attack.
