Seach still doesn’t work and I never red a thread about.
So..

I’m using a full set on my 30/30/x necro. I have to say, i find it quite attractive.
Despite the 100% torment duration I can achiv (20 sec!), I think the best is the double stack of torment on healing.
It gives us necro a new way to apply tormentor, and it’s 20 sec too!!

The only problem is the small radius, forcing almost to beign melee.
Also, i’m curios if the rune activates only when we use the 6# skill, or are there any other ways to trigger?

Every once in awhile a tormenting thread comes along.

Anyway, yeah the proc on the heal is the best part. Think of it this way: with 100% torment duration instead of 70% torment duration, you’re getting 3 extra ticks for each stack of torment, 3 stacks of torment on up to 5 people, this comes to 3 × 3 × 5 = 45 additional ticks of damage. The proc gives 2 stacks of torment for up to 20 seconds against 5 targets, so that is 2 × 5 × 20 = 200 additional ticks.

So far, the only way to use the runes is with the heal skill.

The biggest problem with the runes, IMO, is that while the torment duration they provide is nice, ultimately condi necro damage comes mostly from bleeding. A lot of people would take something like x3 krait + x3 afflicted to get more bleeding, so they could have more flexible builds.

It is more than possible to get 100% bleeding, though. 30 in spite +hemophilia + koi cakes or Rare Veggie Pizza is 90% bleeding duration. A single agony rune can bump it back up to 100%.

Alternatively, 30 Spite, Koi Cake/Rare veggie pizza, a Giver’s weapon, and any combination of 2 Lyssa, 2 Mad King, 4 Lich, 4 Nightmare, and 4 Traveler runes get you +100% on all conditions. Not a ton of point to the condition-specific enhancing ones when those options are on the table.

Torment covering bleeds seems like the best way to go but is only useful in PvP/WvW. I’ve played with it but am not convinced it is a silver bullet for Necromancer versus its cost to make/buy.

just a little tip, use it if you’d like. You can start to cast your heal, then dodge and cancel it. the torment will still go off. not sure if it’s a bug /shrug

Certainly sounds like a bug with the runes – this would allow you to spam AoE torment on every ICD of the runes.

Not really, the rune goes on a 20 second cd and your heal is still up. If you use your heal before that 20 second cd is up, you have to wait for your heal to be back up to trigger the runes

Well, the tormenting runes have their use in PVE as well. In a lot of events, bosses and their adds get capped conditions almost immediately, making it so the necro can’t do very much damage.

Except with torment. Torment never hits the caps on champions, so when you can put 10 stacks on everything (heal + shackles + epidemic), this results in the condi necro doing much higher damage than they normally would have in a zerg like scenario.
