SPVP MM
NOOOO, don’t tell these rerolled MM’s to take blood fiendoff their bar! I enjoy killing them over and over with them wondering what the hell is happening :p.
Only problem I see is no death nova or that 30 point blood magic trait that’s niche. Sure, regen is nice… But if your clustering on a point where boon removal and poison is everywhere, it seems like a wasted trait. I’m presuming your running a condition variant, in which you don’t want to rely on staff for DPS. Staff is a utility(lol) weapon with high CDs. Even staff mastery doesn’t change the fact you’ll be spamming auto attacks.
If you are running a power varient, the evasive mark becomes even less of a use. Until the Nerf in march, death nova is unblockable aoe damage with high uptime on poison. Literally the bane of regen warriors and bunker guardians. I think your team would prefer 33% reduced heals over 2.2k health in 10 seconds :p my 2 cents.
But hey, if it works for you keep it up. We need more theorycrafters ^^.
Standard Trait build.
I’d like to just have an exchange of ideas about this:
1) From my point of view Death Nova can be better for an aggressive build bringing Bone Minions, by the moment you have more impact on teamfights with poison and weakness Aoes.
2) I see your build as “aggressive” because you bring in Bone Minions and Training of the Master, but you still go on the Blood line for the Vampiric Master’s sustain; isn’t it better going for Soul Reaping so you can get more offensive tools (Unyelding Blast), defensive tools (Last Gasp and Vital Persistence) and eventually -by the moment you rely so much on staff- Soul Marks to have an inital better LF generator? I know it sucks, but atm there isn’t anything better to start with.
3) I noticed that you use the Svanir set mostrly for its #6 bonus, why don’t you get instead Lyssa’s one?
4) As OreoWolf said, I see you running bunker oriented traits for an aggressive build, I’d like to understand your idea about it.

I don’t particularly like the build that much, not that it is bad.
Svanir runes are essentially giving you only 4 slots worth of runes (2/4 slot are pretty useless).
Minion Master is amazing. Its a flat 20% buff to bone minions, it means your escape is up 20% faster, and your other two minions are also up 20% faster. Its a huge trait, compared to just 20% off your staff CDs, where staff isn’t that great of a weapon for MMs anyway. You’re trading off uptime on minions, the things that deal at least half your damage, a lot of your healing, and give you control, for 20% faster CDs on Putrid Mark/Reaper’s mark (the other two aren’t that great). By the same line, Greater Mark’s is really only worthwhile for making Reaper’s Mark unblockable, however WH4 can do any interrupts already.
I far prefer using A/F or A/D. staff 2 is replaced by focus 4, or staff 4 is replaced by dagger 4, dropping the staff traits allows vastly better minion traiting, and you end up with almost the same overall utility, but a lot more of it.
Also I feel like Svanir runes just don’t give you enough. Ogre, Vamp, Melandru would all give you a full 6 runes that you use, instead of 4, or Lyssa could give you a set that has strong activation.
Again, not that the build is bad, but I feel like you’re going a bit too all over without much synergy.

Thanks for your response. Heres my reasons.
1) I simply disagree with you on this one is all :P, I feel greater marks will have a much larger impact on team fights than death Nova. First of all, the only time(pretty much) Death Nova is used is when activating putrid explosion ever 16-20 secs. The weakness poisen fields every 20 seconds is nice, but compared to huge unblockable fear(stomp stopper), Huge condi transfer, poisen chill, with the abilty to aim these affects and literally hit the entire enemy team, i cant justify taking death nova.
2) I take the blood trait line because its just more benificial imo. I rarley have any trouble with life force in this build, so wouldnt get much out of Soulreaping, expecially the crit damage. This build benifits from HP and Healing, and take Vampiric Master because of the added Minion Dmg and siphon is nice. I just like mark of evasion, this trait is defintally innerchangeable.
3) Lysaa are so good…so good. And i do take them sometimes. BUT runes o svanir is really what makes this build amazing. Being able to teleport completley out of battle and reset fast is op. You can have the entire enemy team pounding on you waiting for the ice to break(usually blowing all there cds) when the magic trick occurs. You disapere before there eyes and within a few seconds your back with full health ready to do it agian. Can’t stress enough how amazing teleporting while invincible is.
4) I feel i really dont sacrifice that much offensive power compared to other MM builds. I take the “bunker oriented traits” because there the options to me.
does vampiric master heals you when invulnerable in that block of ice ive never checked it out? That would perfectly justify the use of this rune in the build. To be honest however i prefer having 30 in blood magic for the sake of getting my condition cured by my minions every 10 second and loosing death nova instead of loosing the blood fiend wich heals like a pro. I usualy run staff, dagger/focus and spam vulnerability condition transfer and clease regeneration fear and buff removal (focus off hand realy crash those heavy buff relying builds).
I dont feel Minion master should get his damage from his weapon but rather from his minion wich still deals more then enought to kill most player. The master itself should stay out of reach as long as possible by spamming fear immobilize and slow on the targets.
Of course loosing death nova also may means that you loose the ability to proc poison but eh… its a reality one has to live with.

i got to top 10 team pvp with MM, and I used 20/0/20/30/0 Dagger/Warhorn+Staff AND used blood fiend. Just roam with a spirit ranger and do a 1/2/2 split with a guardian+thief or hambow in middle, you will win stuff. :P

Quite shocked(actually just plain wierd) that people dont know how important reseting fights is in high rank tpvp.

Depends on your build and what you’re doing. Also, realize that high tier tpvp is going to have a lot less players, only ronpierce has gotten that high using MMs (that has posted here).
