Scepter #1 hit chance
Haven’t heard of this before now. Did you catch it on stream? Do you have a link to an example stream clip when it happened?
Regarding the #1 ability, blood curse, has anyone figured out why it misses almost 50% its shots if your not directly facing the target and very close?
Just like in real world – you most look where are you shooting at.
Scepter has 900 range and yes, you must facing the target, just like with all other direct hit weapons/skills.
But yeah, kinda frustrating since it’s magic and not a rifle or bow.
I mean I’ve figured out that you have to face the target but its not even a projectile; its instant application. It just doesn’t make sense to me.

I also find that scepter #1 misses a huge amount if your not perfectly facing your enemy and I have no idea why this is, as other skills/weapons give some room for a slightly angled attack (ex. when kiting around nodes in pvp it can be very difficult to land hits with this skill).
Scepter is for pussies. Staff+D/D is where it’s at.

I’ve stayed at this party entirely too long
Was told to start posting thoughts on the forums for the devs to take a look at. So here I am.

sceptr never misses for me unless i’m out of range. i switch to sceptor when my staff 1 misses too much. plus i love the spams of 105 going so fast off a target from my dots
I haven’t played with a scepter in more than a week but don’t recall having much problem with #1 missing. Could this be a recent development?

well it lands when your facing them sure. it’s not a recent development, just trying to figure out why you have to face them. it forces me to either stand still, backpedal, or run at people, 3 things that are not beneficial for a caster
PZ
that’s actually why I bailed on Scepter the first time (I’ve bailed on it twice). With the unforgiving attack radius your basically inviting opponents into melee range of you. not at all ideal for light armor casters.

Never misses when it shouldn’t for me
Tarnished Coast
Just went to LA dummies and tested it.
This is the line where I’m dealing damage, so seems like I don’t have this problem…?
Powerr here from Team PZ.
Wanted to come to discuss my frustration with the hit chance on scepter one and ask a question to some necros who have played the class longer than myself.

The trajectory window on scepter is 180 degrees, test it on dummies by running back and forth when they are adjacent to you and you are spamming scepter 1-skill. So yeah, it’s working as intended.
Strafing and hitting people that are to the side/front of you should be no problem. However, once they cross that 180 degree threshold and go to your rear 180 degrees, the attacks and condition application will fail.

Awww yeaaah! That is how you do it!
Back to subject, when I used scepter (at around lvl 10 then stopped at 12), this never happened to me. I ran some test on the dummies as well, but could not replicate this within the intended range for the scepter either.

I haven’t noticed yet missing with scepter 1 unless target is behind me. Must be something toi do with how op moves or just another new necromancer feature.
I’ve been playing scepter/well necro as my main (about 550 hours on this character) since BWE1. I also do not have the problem missing.
I have noticed this too, but really only in sPvP. It definitely seems like it won’t connect sometimes, even though they have no boons, aren’t dodging and they are quite close to me. I don’t know, maybe it’s just in my head… I’ll do some testing tonight, maybe try to get it on video and see if I can disprove it.
