Scourge builds - meta condi dps v0
Soulreaping is unavoidable MUST PICK , vital persistance cooldowns are must for spaming f2-5.
Will proly get nerfed badly, since majority of damage comes from dhuumfire hitting on every skill , especially the pulsing one.
As you know i have been running essentially the same thing. I agree that this is probably optimal at the moment but think there is potentially good scope for variability in the adept and master traits.
We don’t know yet the scale of life force management issues in a real match, but if its not huge the reduced cd on torch + expertise could offer a nice damage boost and quicker access to CC for kiting. In the case of the master trait, it remains to be seen if the barrier from desert empowerment (2k with Sages, with three on short CD) makes it more useful than the reduced cd on the new utilities. I think the burn after Punishement skill is not needed damage wise atm. The life force on boonrip mentioned above could make these pretty spammable.
Also i think it is “Demonic Lore”, burn on agony, that procs on the F skills. Dhummfire only procs on the summon i think.
The playstyle is great. Its obviously overtuned at the moment but even with damage reduction the potential for setting up good condi bursts, along with some team utility (Combat portal. F3+5 Barrier works in gravity well, stun, knockdown), is great. I’m excited for Scourge DPS.

This is false. Demonic Lore has a 3s internal cooldown, and you still get these stacks if you use Sand Savant.

Like others said, with lifeforce and cleanse managment, theres option in the non grandmasters.
Passive plague signet on carrion is very clunky and situational, but dont forget fear→torment→burn only further pigeonholes on the proc trait, so itll be nerfed and whined about like with chill.

Contagion VS. Enfeeble = i like the heal yesterday , tho weakness and bigger bomb may be better
Soul mark VS. swiftness = think sou marks more alround, unless you against druids immobing you , so far there isnt a synergy rune so traveler rune is free to take
Scourge T1 Adepts – torch trait is trash, i took the secure lifeforce, cleanse may be viable too
Scourge T2 Masters – id like to take the other but so far I always had 3x punisments, they stunbreak+mobility+do dmg , i find that value hard to beat with other BASE utilitys.
Maybe shouts id take the classic heal+suffer , but base you only get a choice of spectrals and corruptions

It’s not. It ensures application of a ton of might (in fact, with alacrity you can keep up permanent 25 might), and also gives you 8% condi duration unbuffed.

I would imagine it is only supposed to proc when you summon the shade. Not the “Whenever you use a shade ability, you and your sand shades strike nearby foes” part.

No, it applies to the damage strike which occurs whenever you use a Shade skill, summoning the shade included.
To be clear, summoning the shade does not strike anything. It triggers the strike. Fine difference, but important.
I don’t think so – the equivalent of the shroud autoattack is the shade attack on ability use. You get less of those than you get autoattacks in shroud, but can activate them at all times, balancing things out.
We already have another trait that causes burn on shade spawn too, that overlap would be strange.

Cant take shouts as they are Reaper. So yeh, we’re stuck with the core options, though i think i will still be sticking with consume conditions, then two punishments, with the third changing depending on enemy comp.

I’m tempted to dump Dhuumfire for the Stab and Stunbreak on F5, since we don’t even know if it’s working as intended.

I go viper, nightmare runes, scept/torch (smolder/agony) staff (energy/annulment) and curses 1-3-2 sr 2-2-3 scourge 2-2-2. Sand flare, Dessicate, Spectral Wall, Trail of anguish, Ghastly Breach; this is for pvp/damage in general and relies on fears and its own burns to stay alive.

No, because as it stands, there’s nobody who would.

Sadly I would have to agree. Especially since the Sand Savant Shade does not count as three Sahdes for some traits (the on summon ones at Master level) pretty much kills it as a viable PvE DPS option.
Even though you can’t keep 3 Shades up perma with raid alacrity 2 is 100% doable (2.16 to be exact) and getting a 50% bigger benefit (2->3) out of the F1 proccing AND getting a few extra burns and extra Torment damage from GM trait is just way too much.
Which Shades skills to use are becoming more clear now. F5 on cooldown and then just spam F2 whenever its up but always keep enough LF to use F5 as soon as its up. F3 and F4 cost too much LF for what they give DPS wise.
It’s also possible that you may just camp Scepter/Torch and the only Shade skill you use is F5. Maybe F2 if you are going to max out LF. Maybe weapon swap to Dagger OH to send conditions over from BiP while Torch is on CD.

I agree, lets take some dps from necros, because they have so many blocks and evades , stealth,imunes, and the other classes have none, so yes i agree take dps from necros and give it to , lets say….. thief, yes thief cause i think 15k+ its not enough for them

Edited my build: Smoldering and misery sigils on both weapon sets, berserker runes, SR first trait vulnerability thing, dagger&warhorn for LF to spam F2-5 instead of staff.
Curses parasitic contagion switched to lingering curses.
None shall survive.
I’m not sure how i can up the dmg any more besides switching out the stunbreak for BiP which would make this unusable in pvp. (no stunbreak and no stab is suicide)
If anet made F1 have a sort of summoning sickness after being summoned (Stun the shades), it would be easier to move out of so you dont die in 3 seconds from the burning, so we don’t have to have our fun new dmg taken away from us. If they do end up removing it, they have to remove the entire mesmer class for the same reason because >:( necsalt let nec b meta-ophax for once
