Shroudstomp fixed?
Yup, it was “fixed”
…but heaven forbid they do something to stop thieves from stomping you while stealth.
Playing the engineer “as intended” is simply not viable.
hmm just logged on to try it. it was a zerg battle but I was able to go through the full shroudstomp animation and the person did get capped, but there was like 5 capping him. will try again
I can’t remember any patches since I last know I shroudstomped someone.
would be very very weak if they did remove it from the game.

If so, pretty amazing how they can promptly fix any small thing to our favor, when dozens of bugs are still out there that are crippling the class.
When was this changed? i was watching a tPvP Necromancer streaming last night and he was stability-shroudstomping fine.

Just tested it myself. Shroud-stomping is now a waste of time. You go through the entire animation, but the actual stomp never occurs.

I just did some testing in sPvP and i can confirm it seems to be nurfed at-least in sPvP
As for WvW and tPvP im not so sure, someone said they confirmed WvW is working and im positive i saw shroudstomping in paid tPvP on a stream i was watching last night.
Mist form stomping? no problem. Stealth stomping? sure thing! Elixer S Stomping? you bet! Shroudstomping? OMFG NURF THAT CRAP QUICKLY SO OP.
whats your reasoning behind this aNet? ANY dev response would be nice.

Im getting a bit peeved by the fact that they are super quick to repair any bug that appears to be beneficial to us but fail to fix alot of the other stuff.
Its starting to feel personal is if the Necro playerbase has knocked a few noses out of joint and they are purposely doing it just to see how long it takes before we do actually quit completely.
Like alot of the other changes I find it odd why they would even bother with this change, as compared to alot of other complaint threads I have hardly seen outcry’s about shroud stomping.

Wither this was quickly or not so quickly fixed the issue remains that there were numerous threads asking if this was an exploit/bug/working as intended and all of these received no response.
And seriously I cant believe that out of this thread highlighting another nerf, someone would actually argue about semantics.

Shroudstomping support competitive in sPvP, has to be nurfed.
- Mist-form stomping remains usable.
- Elixir S stomping remains usable.
Both of these are done in the exact same way as shroud stomping (Finisher key + utility skill key at the same time)
I think that’s the main point of the the posters of this thread, and a legit question for any dev to answer.

Triple checked, it still works in WvW, not much of a spvp guy, but I am very bummed for you guys if it was nurfed there.

The only other thing I can think of as its working elsewhere is this is an unintentional bug that has somehow slipped into sPVP.
Because if shroudstomping was being altered not to work I would have assumed it would be across the board and not just for one specific aspect of the game.

I tested it and couldn’t get it to work either. The animation goes, but no stomp, tested 5 different times with 5 separate opponents.

These are all perfectly valid questions or concerns. Why shouldn’t we be allowed the same perks as everyone else? Why only “fix” ours? Why, for that matter, can’t we simply stomp at any time in DS?
It doesn’t matter how good the question is. This is ANet, and they’ll ignore you till you give up. That’s their strategy, and it’s working wonderfully.

This is why I believe it is was a bug, and will eventually be “fixed” (nerfed) at some point, similar to what just happened with Mesmer shatter.
That’s not to say I don’t think it’s ridiculous to take it out, they should make it so you can stomp in DS, period. If you have the stability talent, then you have a protected stomp just like a number of other classes do.
If any class has access to a protected stomp, then they all should. Balance around how accessible that protection is if need be, but the option should be there for everyone.
Pretty sure they wanted to prevent stomping while in deathshroud since in beta you could have stability for the entire duration of the deathshroud. That would obviously be OP for stomping and reviving.
Has anyone informed Anet that things have changed? :P

Surely if they are altering game changing mechanics , it should be patchnoted.
Additionally, are we the only class who doesnt have a specialist protected stomp mechanic, like Invunerability stomp , Invisibility stomp , Stability stomp?
I cant think of another class which lacks this ability?
1) It’s a bug fix, not a nerf. You all KNEW it was a bug considering the circumstances revolved on activating it, and any who say otherwise is merely lying to themselves. So please don’t mix up terminology in transparent attempts to martyr the class. Nerfs are reducing the effect of something working as intended. Bug fixes are just that, fix skills/abilities not working as intended.
2) This wasn’t fixed quickly. If I remember this forum right, somebody had made a youtube video (in other words, publicaly displaying this bug on official forums) sometime in either mid October or November. So that’s a few months with it being untouched.
That somebody was me. Yes, I fully expected they would “do something” about it.
However, this is also a balance issue for necromancers.

You can no longer Shroudstomp in sPvP. This has taken away the Necromancers only safe way to stomp.
Even if this was a bug, for such a major change why would Anet not wait for a balance patch, and increase foot in the grave duration to make up for this?
Why would Anet prioritize this instead of…..I don’t know, Minion AI maybe?

Although i disagree with ANet removing shroudstomping with no warning or patch notes, completely ignoring Necromancer players for going on 30 days now and allowing Mistform stomping & Elixer S stomping to continue, double tapping F1 and stomping still works for stability stomping, just without the DS health pool to protect us.

If they “fix” stealth, mist form, elixer stomping, ect then I have no problem with this change. But they pretty much took away the one viable way for us to stability stomp while leaving the other classes able to exploit the same technique. That = imbalance and needs to be addressed soon.

It is still possible to shroudstomp. Just make sure to deathshroud first then hit stomp/rez.
It must be done quick.
For instance, my deathshroud button is “T” and stomp/rez is “F”. So I just roll my finger from T to F quickly.

No before the “fix” it was possible to start stomping/rezzing first then hit deathshroud. Since afterwords, they made the sequence tighter, impossible to stomp/rez first, and only deathshrouding first works.
Was shroudstomping yesterday (Tuesday 15th) in frees and paids.
Hmm that’s how I have always been doing it, didn’t know you were able to do that before. When I get home I’ll have to test this more, wasent working for me.

Now when you start stomping/ressing, and you enter shroud, your stomping/ressing ends right away.

I’m testing it in the mists right now and shroudstomping still works fine. If I were to set up a keyboard macro for it, it would be: “press Enter DS key -> press Interact key” with no time delay in between those two actions.

As a necromancer I have to admit in sPvP I almost never even have attempted to stomp. About a week into the game I realized how much of an advantage other professions have and gave up on it. Now I kill players and let the professions with the IWIN button do the stomping for me.
