Hey!

I’m need suggestions about sigils for my weapons in my power setup.
I got Axe/Warhorn and Dagger/Focus. I already have superior sigil of bloodlust on my offhand weapons and are pretty happy with that. The dagger has superior sigil of blood and the axe superior sigil of force.
I’m thinking superior sigil of strength on one of the MH weapons or maybe both to push that power up even further, and give the on crit bleeds a little more punch.
Any suggestions to this? Is it better than 5% flat damage?

My crit chance is 53% and mostly 20% more cause of fury so I do crit alot.

Thanks in advance

I’d go with Hydromancy. Not only for the one missing sigil but also a second one for your off hand once your bloodlust stacks are maxed.

Or Sigil of Energy if you need extra dodges.
Paralyzation if you want an extra second of daze on your warhorn.

My maths might be off but I’ll try and calculate how many procs you can expect to keep up. I am assuming you don’t have any boon duration and that you pop into DS every 10 seconds.

Dagger attacks at a rate of 2 per second on average. Base might is 10 sec durations so you can get 20 hits off before the first possible proc will wear off.

With your stats, on average, 12 of these will crit. Of these crits, on average, 3-4 will grant might. This is equivalent to 105-140 power/condi.

Now, I think the easiest thing would be to hop onto gw2buildcraft.com, put in your gear and traits, and then click on manual and put in the above stacks of might as a baseline, see what happens to your bleed damage and compare it to when you have the 5% sigil in.

It’s hard for anyone to truly give you an answer otherwise without having the whole picture ^^ In my experience, damage multipliers work best when your damage is more on the side of power damage, while might works better when you’re closer to hybrid.

Sigil of flame is another not bad option. If you really want to maximize damage, don’t forget about sigil of the night (10% damage at night) and that you can carry another weapon set with bloodlust sigils for stacking and then swap after. Unfortunately GW2 doesn’t have a feature to save gear sets yet which makes this kind of preparation tedious sometimes.

EDIT – My suggestions are probably more suitable for PvE, but see Flow’s post for some good suggestions for PvP/WvW, although either suggestions would work fine in either.

My current PvP build is Axe/Focus and Dagger/Warhorn. On the Dagger, I have a Sigil of Hydromancy and on the axe, a Sigil of Energy (Warhorn has Paralyzation and Focus has bloodlust, IIRC). I go into melee and I swap to Hydromancy to keep my target there. I go to kite and swap for a free dodge. Basically a mode-swap, but I enjoy it.

That said, I’m not what anyone would call a good sPvPer, so take my suggestions with a grain of salt there.

Thanks for the great advice guys. In pvp I will try hydromancy and paralyzation for sure.
For the pve part (which I forgot to mention is the biggest part) I tried to put the stats into the calculator and found it to be very close. If I maintain 4 stacks I get more damage than 5% sigil and with 3 stacks I go just below It couldn’t calculate the flame sigil though so that’s still a mystery but might try it instead of the life steal sigil on the dagger, to get 1 source of aoe on the dagger as well which it so desperatly need :P I’ll have to keep thinking about the axe sigil since it was so close in numbers
