I’m running a 30/0/0/10/30 build with d/d and axe/focus. On the axe i have the accuracy sigil and with that i get to 46% chance wjile on the dagger i’ve got the force sigil and 41% crit chance. What i see is that on the final dagger attack i usually don’t crit and so missing a good chunk of dps. I’m wearing full berserker’s gear so a crit is 223% more damage for me. Should i get an accuracy sigil for my dagger too?

No because i have on both offhands the sigil of bloodlust and all that precision would be wasted with Soul reaping XII. I know 50% is the sweet spot but the berserker gear doesn’t go that high

Force will be better dps for you.

With that much critical dmg u must be talking about PvE/WvW. In this case I d suggest u keep sigil of force and try using food to get the extra crit chance u want…

In a reply to Mammoth’s edited post…
If i m not mistaken, the highest crit dmg u can get is 111% which leads to a 2.61 crit dmg multiplier.
Its been a long time since i tested stuff like that but if i remember correctly 5% more dmg is generally better than 5% crit chance unless u have very low crit chance (around 20% or something) and high crit dmg.

Yeah I just ran through a bunch of possibilities, and edited the post you replied to sorry

I don’t think accuracy can ever be better than force without including procs. I guess it’s possible to work out the equation that shows this, but my math is weak, so I just ran through a bunch of different stat sets. To get your crit damage high enough, your crit chance will be too high unless you use valkyrie or cavalier, and even that may not work for the classes where prowess and precision are in the same trait line.

An elementalist in max valkyrie with arcane lightning, a banner of discipline nearby and food buff would still be better off with force over accuracy if he doesn’t have anything that procs on crits.

If you’re not playing to win, don’t complain when you lose.

Mix a little rampager gear or coral into your zerker build to boost crit chance and use sigil of force or a sigil that procs on crit. You have already found out that you need to crit to get any damage bonus. Crit % chance should be your first priority, not your second. Also, the 50% crit chance “sweet spot” is there for skills and sigils with cool down timers. If you are not using them, consider critting more often. Remember, the crit bonus is a % increase on the standard crit bonus, not an increase from no bonus at all.

No, my 50% sweet spot is to not waste useless crit chance cause of the 50% increase i get in Death shroud.

I went a different route, and its working fine for me: Superior Runes of the Eagle. I can get to the 50% crit chance sweet spot without having to be a glass cannon. I’m 4/6 Valk armor (2 Zerk), and once I upgrade some trinkets I’ll be able to use another piece or two of Valk armor. That helps a lot with survivability and adds more lifeforce. My crit damage is still over 100%.

Also, the bonus from Superior Runes of the Eagle (+5% damage against foes under 50% heath) synergizes with Close to Death, allowing you to melt foes at lower health.
