Sigil of Torment on Terrormancer
A decent substitute for Sigil of Peril. I’m no expert on top PvP strategies, but I expect it to be used.
I expect engineers to flock to it.
Engies are already either rabid for the IncendaryPowder proc, or celestial also gives good crit chance + they got lots of fast/mutlihit skills.
On necro I havent tested but i thik you must be rabid. Maybe on staff since its aoe, but necro in current meta sucks in teamfights and is meant for 2v2 and favorable 1v1s.
I can see it being good as an extra condition. More crap that they have to remove makes it much more likely that the conditions you want to stay will stay.
That is a very good question. Sigil of Geomancy is generally the standard when it comes to applying an extra condition on weapon swap, but sigil of torment seems very tempting. You have to also remember that #3 on scepter gives life force based on the number conditions on your target, so having an extra condition up every 5 seconds or so does not seem like a bad trade.
TL;DR: Try Sigil of Torment on one of your weapon sets. It may just become apart of the current Terrormancer Meta.
I honestly have no idea why sigil of torment was added, we don’t need more power creep from runes and sigils lol. Anyway, I think it is a very nice sigil that will probably be meta on engi/necro. All we need is perplexity runes and we are golden
Retired.
Also worth noting that Necromancers (unlike many other condi classes) benefit really heavily from extra conditions, because they end up stacking to overwhelm removal. Plus we almost never bother with condition-specific durations (fear being the main exception) so its not like bleeding options are strictly better in that way.
I put sigil of torment on a scepter for a condition damage build. It’s pretty simple. Torment gets better with condition damage and you need precision, anyway. I also have runes of tormenting on a rabid set of armor so I stack torment continuously on targets in PvE as well as piles of bleeding. Best results for me are either with minions as straight dps backup and aggro holders, or on a hybrid power/precision build.
With Torment, you want to kite mobs, anyway. The play gets a little tedious, though.
First thing is that it’s a proc on critical, so you either run rabid instead of carrion (no base damage & no 25k hp pool) – the extra toughness isn’t worth it imo.
→ 1 torment stack with small AoE radius on proc isn’t worth it over a easy applyable vuln stack when on staff, unless you have master timing to be on the weapon who has the sigil when you do the classic DS to geomancy combo.
I probably will not run it. Sigil of Energy and Purity stick on my bar for extra dodges and something else to combat immobilize spam, which is what kills me.

I spoke to Noscoc on his stream last night and he said the same thing. Switched back to frailty since I run carrion.

Necromancer rule 1: Always listen to Nos !, Rabid used to be fun for massive bleeding stacks, etc, but now it’s all about kiting instead of real face tanking, where more HP and more direct damage always comes in handy ! Next to the fact that every celestial warrior (shoutbuild ofc)/ele has superior condi cleansing, where an extra vuln gives that extra cover for it
The only thing I would swap carrion for would be Sinister, oh wow.. I would be so happy if that ever came in pvp amulet ._.
It’s nice for Hybrids.
But for Terrormancer? I don’t feel like swapping Carrion Amulet with Scav runes for Rabid and one condition I can have in every fight.
It’s surely next go-to for Rangers and Engis, though.
