Sinister stats
Useful for hybrid necros and engies. I don’t see anyone else using it.
I won’t use it, personally.
Really, may as well just stick with rampager.
Why don’t they come up with completely new stat combo’s ?
It’s been over 2 years and we have yet to see a power >, precision, vitality set.
Nah, Sinister is definitely better than Rampager.
It’s finally a “glass cannon condition” gear set, but really, that isn’t much of a good thing.
Terror and burning already have high base condi damage so it won’t help the dhuum terror build all that much but I is definitely the build I would try this with.

Yes, definitely better than rampager’s.
I’ll probably get a full set just to see how it goes.

Keep me informed, I am quite curious…
I cannot see it do much, but hey… Boredom :P
Lost? Confused? [TCS] – A guild for every state of body and mind
It will be the new best set for pve (condi) solos.
Glass condi armor. I figure it will work best with a hybrid bleed build on Necromancer. Other professions will benefit a lot more – burning, confusion, bleeds, torment, poison.
Necromancer “manages” conditions well but only scepter is designed to stack damaging ones. War, Mes, Ele, Engi will try it for sure. Thief and Ranger maybe.
Condi, power, precision. Basically what rampager should be. With this you open up the possibility of 1 condi spec being included in optimized pve groups.
Even Power, prec, condi damage could work nicely.
Pretty much this.
Ravenous
Major: Condition Damage
Minor: Power
Minor: PrecisionFinally a glass canon condition build, for those who dare.
Hey we called it Spoj (although I like ‘Ravenous’ better)
I was a bit incorrect in saying optimized groups though. Although it certainly wouldnt be bad for fractals or casual runs.
Don’t see it working for necro, as we don’t have the sustain or means of escape to survive in it, but scepter/pistol mesmers will be insane with that gear!
Yeah, I think even though the stats are all glassy now you simply wont surpass power builds because conditions can only tick once per second. So on single targets the extra ferocity and power of zerker gear will do more damage, not just because you’ll probably pick some different non-power traits as well.

But this is not a gear issue. If you can’t survive without escaping you probably wouldn’t have suvived with carrion/rabid/dire either.

Conditions that damage rapidly will benefit the most: Fire and Confusion
Well when soloing condition damage is superior to berserker for necro. Simply because of the difference in self buffing. This statement is only untrue for very low armour mobs. Most bosses have enough armour to warrant using condition damage instead. But its kind of irrelevant as less than 0.01% of players will solo content on a necro.
For Necromancer, I don’t think it would benefit us too heavily. My melee trapper Ranger on the other hand… I think that would be pretty nasty. I’ve done full Rampager’s before and that was pretty mean, too. Otherwise though, I don’t think Sinister will benefit Necro’s too much. Dire + Rabid is the way to go IMO.

In my view, sinister is the way to go in condi for necros. I’m going to try it out.
I want to use that Meteorlogicus and staff with Epidemic and two wells and finally feel like a long range caster.
kitten , I never thought I’d say that. Well, here it is.
Sinister + aristocracy runes > dire/rabid + any condi rune
Don’t honestly seeing it being that useful, maybe for some weird deathshroud burn build? But then you probably won’t have any sustain…eh just have to see what people come up with.
Its not anything build changing. Its just the simple fact that you have power instead of toughness so your attacks will do slightly more direct damage while doing the same condition damage as before. But in a PvE environment for a solo you should be using dhuumfire so this will certainly impact those single lifeblasts a bit more than anything else.

Well I’m talking pvp, where you do have to last a bit. Particularly if you’re playing a condi class that takes awhile to whittle down their opponent’s health.
hmm I had my hopes up it would be condition damage/power/crit damage but then again no reasonabley sane developer would release such a stat combo xD
“Revenant is actual proof that devs read the necromancer forum” – Pelopidas.2140
As a main pve’er, I like this stat combo since for my necro since it removes a major annoyance: constructs.
I will get myself a set of armor and trinkets using the Sinister stats as much because it has condition damage as I like new clothes. It will not be ascended armor, though. I am burned out on materials for that.
Having precision in there with power and condition damage is nice because it frees the build of having to trait precision to proc critical hits. 6/0/0/2/6 may perform decently on the new condi armor.
Of course, if it works at all for Necromancer, it will work twice as good on other professions with more instant and powerful conditions. That gets me back to scepter being the profession-limiting weapon.

With more and more mordrem being thrown at us (with different type of husk based mobs) I can see condi focused hybrids being more and more desired. So I kinda feel happy that this set is in the game to give a condi focused glass cannon instead of the more hybridy rampagers. Well see how it plays out.
Since dungeons aren’t really a priority in the game and the game seems to be leaning more and more towards large area battles (just look at the new zone holy crap) I feel that condi builds are finally getting an arena they can fight in to there utmost. I suppose this is just another sign of that. Heres hoping though.
I think I will try running this with Rabid armor, and sinister trinkets/weapons and see how it goes. I’m in a full condi build, but a slight hybrid build would probably benefit more.
I haven’t been on for a few days, there isn’t a sinister amulet in pvp is there?

I wouldn’t use the combo on my Mes or Thief. However, I’m pretty interested in how it could work out on my Necro. I was thinking -maybe- a mark/well spec, using Sinister.

not that I have seen.
I did not look very hard though so it may be there and I just did not notice it.
I will update my hybrid set

For a wells build you would be trading crit bonus improvement for condition damage. Wells benefit far more from power than condi damage so I expect the crit bonus to be more effective unless you are using scepter.
While I’m not going to replace my planned Ascended set, I am planning on trying out a Sinister weapon or two on my Necro.
I’ll miss my extra vitality, but I will try it out
