I used to run full condi dire build, and now it’s useless, can’t apply kitten, warrior, eles, even mesmer i get owned.

I’m assuming you’re talking about roaming not ZvZ? If so condi necro still works, they work better than power necros while roaming. However it’s quite paper, rock, scissors when it comes to build vs build, so it all depends on what you bump into.

We aren’t d/d eles or mesmers where they can have a good fight no matter who they bump into, with very few counters. Few as in necros ironically is one of the counters to d/d eles. Reapers however will do better when it comes to roaming.

I honestly don’t have issue against any of these classes. I am more likely to have issues against a good d/p thief and their infinite condition removal and stealth eventually outliving me or really really good longbow rangers, but these ones are super rare. I can only remember 1 dude.

I ran mainly condi/hybrid nec too in WvW until I dropped from Tier 1 to Tier 2.

90% of the eles roaming in Tier 2 are Celestial/Dire Diamond skin Eles.

condi necs got zero chance against them.
hybrid necs got a small chance.

still, if you don’t mind the occasional helplessness against a diamond skin ele, condi necro is a very good choice for WvW solo roaming. especially with the new scepter changes.

Yeah diamond skin eles are an issue for condi builds. You’ll also find some good scrapper builds are pretty good vs condi’s as well.

Also worth noting, since it’s often forgotten here. Cele signet necro/reapers also counter condi builds pretty well.

Condi is a great choice for roaming like people said, but facing a zerg as any condi build is pretty much like bashing your face into a wall. Or fighting D/D ele.

I don’t have any trouble vs D/D ele, unless they are diamond skin. Then i have to rely on luck and pray for them to be bad at health management so i can get them lower than 90% hp.

Condi Necro for roaming isn’t bad at all, but Power Necro is lifeeee!!! I always go back to it fast after playing condi Necro. Seems Ppl are getting smarter and bringing more condi mitigation by way of traits, gear, util, and lemongrass. I always bring a lot when roaming and usually hope when I find an enemy they’re using condi(unless maybe it’s Done).

I still prefer Condi necro for roaming in WvW, worst thing they ever did to us though was make it so chill and cripple no longer affect movement skills, for that I can never forgive them.

Just like some people here are saying, condition necro is strong (also in my opinion) however we can be countered heavily by some classes and sometimes some builds in general (don’t worry too much about it as it does happen).

It also mostly depends on the way you play against your opponents.

In most case scenario necromancer (same as every class tbh) can match up to most or possibly all classes when it comes to roaming, since you’ll never know what type of opponents you’ll be matched up against (sometimes you might do since most people play meta) therefore you need to just prep yourself on how you may counter that opponent/opponents.

If you’re unfortunate enough to encounter a good/decent ele who’s running diamond skin (specially if they are celestial) then that’s just unfortunate; the best choice is just try to escape.

Some Mesmer builds (anti-condition) and most thief builds (those who run SA) can be quite tricky to go up against during roaming due to the fact that they can reset a fight against you with their access to invisibility and decent to good condi cleanse.

Warriors you’ll rarely see them roaming around with brawler’s recovery, signet of stamina, superior sigil of cleansing, cleansing ire, berserker stance with stun build e.g hammer and mace + shield, and -40% condition duration food with hoelbrak -20% condi duration. (The only time you might see this is if you’re doing 1v1 and he wants to heavily counter you). Most of the time you just have to kite them around, corrupt the right boons then you can win.

In 1v1 duels scenario (DON’T WORRY TOO MUCH ABOUT IT!!!) since people would always try to counter your build no matter what. Skill can be involved but if two players who are equally skilled go up against each other but one has a build that heavily counters you in general then most of the time you will lose (specially if you make one mistake).

NA 3&6 ATM. Roaming on Necro I’ve been enjoying Spite/Curses/SR Zerker/Valk with oil and lemongrass. CoCo for heal. Spec walk,plague sig, 3rd pick em. I like Worm or CB. But I can give condi Necro love. Tough nuts to crack!

Hollts I play only Power necro after I tought Condi Necro at its peak a year ago roughly became to easy in 1v1. I do love Power Necro and can kill most I come across 1v1 tho the fact is if I were Condi I could just do it faster. I think Condi Necro has its hard counters aswell: DS Eles as ppl mentioned but just make the Staff Sinister and thats not an issue… but yea I still cant Condi like Donee but doubt many can.

Power necro as a Solo Roamer has issues tho, its consider a easy lockdown target… Hollts jukes aside its weak to this and after 3y playing it lack the sustain of say a Condi nec. The biggest issue of all as Power Necro is we cant really shake the enemy yet we dont want them up close, this is something the Reaper will turn completly upside down: The Reaper and the Greatsword is suited for a Power Necro that wants the enemy up close and thrives on it & the disengage or kite issue isnt really gonna be there then.

Intensity stacking Condis made it very hard to Solo Roam on Power builds, was alot better before Burn,Poison,Confusion changes

cant wait for my Reaper and turn the coin

I kinda agree. I can’t solo roam in power necro even my life was in game. But i can power necro just fine in Spvp though. >.<

Playing necro without epidemic is just boring. Of course if you plan to only win some 2 vs 1 fights you don’t really need epidemic. 5-10 vs 1 you need epidemic.

I’ve done all kinds of roaming on Power, and a moderate amount of roaming on Condi. I always thought Powermancer’s shortcomings were more easily exploited via the high stealth, block, blind spam that I often encountered while roaming solo. Meanwhile, Condi seemed to help counteract some of the Necro’s weaknesses, allowing for damage while you’re CC’d/enemy is in stealth/etc. I’ve found success with both, and both can annihilate a Camp solo, but Condi definitely feels easier, especially if it’s Xv1.

Even against Zergs though, I find a use for being Condi. I don’t do organized GvG, so I’ll harry the sides, try to split the group up by dropping chill in the middle, etc. Power can do something similar (or exactly the same!) of course, but especially if you just happen to tag along with a zerg, it’s all about finding a little niche for yourself and playing to it. I prefer the disruption/target sniping with sudden boon strip and condi pressure/helping the friendly zerg get out with some CPC approach.

If you’re having problems playing dire anything you just need to improve. There’s a reason they keep dire out of pvp.

Both power and condi have it’s perks and weaknesses. Although I do agree with you with power necros being easily exploited with all of those things you have mentioned it also is the same on condi necros but not as bad. My view on condi necro being able to 1vX is definitely not easy, as the 1vX experience is mostly affected by the players you go up against. Having to do 1v2 against two experience players within your level is already hard to deal with and doing 1v3 is just asking to get killed instantly if you don’t think 2 or 3 steps ahead. There are times where I wish I was a power necro while roaming or doing a 1vX as imo I have a better burst to constant damage potential.

I hope it will change in 2 weeks tho… we get abit more moevement but mainly we become more Melee oreiented as a class and hopefully we can use the Power builds with more sucess then
