So, I took my MM to WvW...
MM is fairly good for roaming, especially in a small group; not so much for zerg or siege.
Ranger was probably a zerker.
I used to command as a MM (just for fun), but people liked my idea, so more necros went MM in my zerg (just for fun ofc) and guess what, it was fun

Been done by Maguuma. Paper gates acutally go down pretty quick to that many minions.
Lol and after that they pretend we are useless? This must have looked like armagedon was knocking at their door to them

One or two minion masters are useless. It’s when you get 10+ that they get nuts as any AoE is basically guaranteed to not hit any players.
I can imagine even a small group of MM necros would be intimidating.
To update my experience, I had another WTF happened encounter last night, but it was expected too. I ran into a Condi-Engineer and he ripped me a new one. The sad part about it is that I only took of a tiny portion off his lifebar by the time I had a pole sticking out of my body. That made me a sad panda.
Lethal non-condi SB ranger? What server was that from? :p
It’s kinda funny that necro minions can work as they are pretty expendable and also eat up the 5 AOE cap which is kinda funny if you think about it.
What traits did you take and was mobility a problem?

Could you go into little more detail on this? I loved my MM on GW1 and I started leveling an Nec alt. Which minions do you use in WvW? I assume everything but the flesh wurm? Info on build/gear/runes would be awesome!

I’m currently using a variant to the typical MM build: 20/x/20/20/10. The traits are all the ones that affect minions, with Reaper’s Might and Unyielding Blast for the others that don’t fit minions. I’m about to take 10 out of Soul Reaping and go 30 Death Magic since Reanimator is going to Death Nova, which itself is going actually help better in WvW anyways thatn 10 SR me thinks.
Gear is full Soldiers with Cleric trinkets. However, I’m thinking about going full Clerics because of the increase in Healing Power, just hesitant because I don’t want to lose my hitting power either.
I use a full bar of minions: Bone Minions, Bone Fiend, Shadow Fiend, and FG. I haven’t used Flesh Wurm yet because I do a lot of roaming, but if I find myself ever stationary, I’d probalby use it in place of Shadow.
Mobility could be considered a problem in my set up, but I’m used to it since I main a Guardian. As a necro, you could do a couple things to help, take the Locust Signet or take the Quickening Thirst trait and use dual daggers. Or you could just use Warhorn #5.
MM zergs are fun, I used to tag up and run them on HoD. Imagine a zerg (35-40) of nothing but pure MMs running around. At one point we had up to 50, we were hitting Bay in a BL. Full t3, MMs at south gate, 3 Omegas at Wurm gate. MMs, without any siege, were in lords room before omegas got through the first gate. MM zergs don’t move very fast, but are one of the scariest zergs you will encounter, or amusing things to run in.

Personally I prefer fetid consumption for camp whacking. Lets you use the blood bag, and in npc-heavy environments, it’s very likely that NPCs won’t focus on your bloodbag. It can give you a pretty crazy amount of healing when it actually stays alive.

Minions absolutely destroy any kind of structures if they focus on it. In legacy of the foefire, you can break down the doors faster than any zerk warrior just by having your minions join you.
I haven’t really tried them in WvW yet, but I imagine they would absolutely devour any kind of enemy siege they managed to get their hands on.
