Also GS and vampiric…100hp a hit? or 150 a crit if you have vamp prec…they sure did add a lot of sustain.
They also get a version of AH with Blighter’s Boon.

i feel we can be immortal in some builds or way way too tanky.

I thank goodness, I have always wanted blood to work thru DS. Really fits the attrition aspect of the class.

I have to see how it will play out… The new DS skills triumph way over the old ones – and the sick amount of vulnerability is real (seriously, you can stack up to 20 on your own within seconds)… I am a bit in between now… pleasantly surprised, that is for sure
Vampiric Aura however makes my undies wet me really curious as to how it will play out… It is a seperate damage modifier (most likely) which helps a lot

Same, but it was funny watching the chat light up when he said siphons now work in DS and the pause before he finished the sentence. It was like:

death shroud has an innate 50% damage reduction as well. you should take like 22% of the damage you usually would with it all stacked. 10k backstab doing 2.2k….loool

So, here’s what I wonder. Do you think Signet of Vampirism will work in DS? That might bring it back to life o.O

while it looks strong on paper don’t forget the healing that other classes bring, healing signet, signet of renewal, healing turret and so on. the necro heal is on a long cooldown so you kinda have to sustain somehow until it’s up again. then there is the movement problem, you can’t really run away from damage so you have to be naturally tanky.
will have to test it but as a gw1 dervish i’m definitely looking forward to playing it
but… shouts look very bad imo… sadly..

Spin2win would be a 2.5k heal with vampiric minor. With vamp precision and 100% deathshroud crit chance….another 2.5k. More if the GS siphon traits works in RS.
The gs #3 could also heal for a max of 2.7k frim siphons alone and the best thing is all of this is extra damage you are putting out as well and doesnt count the new vamp aura thats apparently a thing or blighters boon….you will never die.
Imagine full toughtness, 30k health, 24k Life force. About to die? sit in RS and just receive boons, attack and you will be almost full when you come out.
Immortality is in our grasp pretty much.

The main weakness is that you actually need to be whacking away at something in order to keep your sustain up, unlike warrior who has a perma regen with signet and guardian, who has multiple ways of healing up (dodge roll, staff 4, AH, etc.).
That makes you very susceptible to kiting, and with only 1 dash found in the shroud skill, you still need to pick your fights carefully.

True but in zvz you can essentially fronline and be the last man standing. Hitting in RS keeps you in RS, you can poison and chill in RS for extra damage reduction. Unless its changed or you get focused you can RS #1 forever and heal up your main pool then drop…obviously last more than 10s then do the same again.
Also can see spectral grasp getting a lot of use here in 1v1s since its delayed you can chain it with grave digger or DS #5 to finish someone off. From the vid you can move, though super slow, when casting grave digger. With that much chill people move so slow as long as they are below 50% you will get them twice with it with the 100% reduction. Seems as soon as someone is below 50% health and we are close its game over…
Dagger immobile- swap to gs- stack chill- shout that pulls enemies- swap to RS chill+stabo+charge- spectral grasp= win? Will still be weak vs teles, bit I don’t it’ll be nearly as easy to escape as we are now.
Also, the BM changes sound like they could even improve base Necro significantly (now that we have zero reason for speccing into Curses with the GM minor change and the revival of stats from trait lines).

Where does it say we lose the signets? I seriously doubt any class will lose any utilities, I mean what about the signet recharge -trait?

excited to try a siphon MM reaper….cleric/zealot mix. the ability to hit 100% crit chance w just traits and no stat investment is amazing and opens up a ton of gear stat options (and likely to be nerfed).
