Doesn’t seem to be that terrible now with the new Reaper spec..

Bitter chill.. chilled foes gain vul ..
Putrid Defence – take 10% less damage from poisoned foes..
death nova.. minions die in a cloud of poison.. we’ll get to summon up to 5 in melee range.
that’s just 3 traits that could make necro quite… powerful.

I agree that there is some nice synergy, but the basic profession should not have to rely on an elite specialisation to be good.

But that power (at least in PVP) appears to be countered quite a bit by the slow cast times, etc… that will be attached to the Great Sword at least. An attempt by the Devs at Balancing perhaps.
