I’m in my high 50s now and mostly do PvE and occasional WvW content. Very happy with my build and the hybrid playstyle of the necro. The only issue that comes up with this build is that I have to run BiP, Epidemic and Well of Suffering to get the maximum damage output in my utilities. This means no stun breakers, and no 25% speed boost signet which helps a ton in wvw and PvE.

Does anyone else use a similar build like me (30/30/0/0/10 is my goal when I hit 80) and have figured out a way to get out of being CC-ed or have ways to get around faster?

Obviously the easiest answer to this question is to switch utilities as needed, but you can’t always predict when you will run into a cc-ing mob

What I am asking is basically, what’s a good stun breaker to have on in my utility slots at all times? I don’t always use BiP on trash mobs only vs dungeon bosses and such so I guess that’s my swing slot.

I’m also asking if there are ways I can get swiftness, and I know Spectral Walk happens to be both a stun breaker and grant 30s of swiftness but that thing has a FULL minute cooldown, by this time I will probably be cc-ed 2-3x already before it is off of cooldown.

EDIT: Also, the tool tip for Well of Power says converts conditions of allies into boons, does this mean if you have multiple conditions it gets converted to multiple boons, and does “allies” include “self” too? Because if that is the case I think I really like this Well of Power skill!

Well of power pulses intermittently converting a condition into a boon and it does affect yourself as well. It will not instantly convert all conditions into boons.

Well of power also converts conditions on you too. As a stun break it is useful however, unlike spectral walk or spectral armor, you won’t be able to cast it at the moment you are knocked back. You can however cast it as soon as your char lays steady on the ground.

I haven’t moved BiP epidemic and spectral walk off my bar for a couple weeks (other than certain dungeon boss fights).

probably the best stun breaks necro has.

Mobility/CC and no escape is a major weakness of the necro. ANet intends this.
They seem to think that DShroud is our counter/mitigation.

In PvE particularly group events/dungeon’s this is a huge problem as if you use DShroud a defense, you’ll not get any heals. Ya’ll not be able to use your utility, like Well to brake stun/remove conditions.

PvP it’s just amplified as most people know to focus down the necro down. That they can simply sit out of range so we can’t even do any damage back. Or that they can simply escape when they feel like it. (Eng’s are very good at fighting for a bit, moving quicker than you can, while cleaning all condi off them, getting out of combat, healing to 100%, then coming back to finish you off, all while your still locked in combat)

Anyway, last patch they did add brakes stun to that well, and the extra LifeForce gen on axe/dagger is about enough to do a DS flash to mitigate a attack where other class’s would have vigor and just roll and avoid it.
So a step in the right direction.

There’s talk of fixing our attrition. (Tho there was in balance patch too)
So morel of the story. Pray to the dark gods that it’s going to get better.
