In my opinion, the baselining/merging of our traits combined with new goodies has condensed our builds a lot. So much so we’re performing pretty well beyond my personal expectations.
I was testing my condi sustain build I am so in love with and its night and day from 24 hours ago. In a good way. I thought I was going to get pummeled and I was right, but its not me dying. :p
Not to mention, all the different proccing stuff like blood Bond, Transfusion etc etc. is really fun in of itself.
Edit: We will have to see if it holds up as people get used to new builds across all classes.
I think most people are pleasantly surprised. Sometimes it’s better to be pleasantly surprised than get hyped and be totally disappointed. We went into this patch with low expectations, we’re testing things out live and things aren’t as kittenome said before.
This isn’t to say that the CC and Axe nerfs aren’t stupid though.
If you look at my comment history I’ve only said that the CC and Plague change were bad.

Agree. Plague and CC are still bad. Rest of the patch is great fun. They got SO close to an excellent set of changes. Now it’s just good.
Much of the complaints about the patch was about consume condition and the over all changes to Curses. The rest of it was decent or fairly good. The loss of spectral walk being able to cheat fall damage isn’t that big of a deal. But the destruction of our only really good heal was a pretty big hit.
Over All, we really didn’t get much from this. An interesting signet build and vampiric build actually working for the first time ever. It feels like these changes were specifically designed for the reaper and not the core profession. All the nerfs and even the numbers make allot more sense when you can hit far more targets at a much faster rate. This fact is the criticism the community, myself included, have had. My favorite build for necromancer was condi. And it feels really really terrible to run now.
We’re necromancers. Gloominess is in our nature. After all, it’s the best way to never feel let down.
A bit sad about CC and spectral parachute still. On the bright side, always did want to make a vampire with a bit more bite than sparkles.

Where is it that you’re using conditionmancer? I use mine in WvW, powermancer in PvP/PvE. I’ve found that conditionmancer is just as strong as it was pre-patch in WvW if not a little bit stronger actually.

I’m super happy with the changes after playing around with them for a bit. My build has changed a tad but is soooooo much stronger overall.

Where is it that you’re using conditionmancer? I use mine in WvW, powermancer in PvP/PvE. I’ve found that conditionmancer is just as strong as it was pre-patch in WvW if not a little bit stronger actually.
the necromancer are terrible in cond if u compare with other professions. Bleeding and poison are the cond with less damage and we can’t stack faster like the other professions. Now all the others classes have been improved and we were nerf. If u compare u damage with the last week damage them the necro are “better”, but if compare we are weak.

I wanna play PvE cond necro.
- poison have realy bad damage and how many mobs have heal skills ??
- corruptoin boons is great, for pvp, how many mobs with a lot of boons u see??
- if u fail in transfer conds, oh god!! your on cond will kill u.
- Plague… realy!!!???
- “now u can burn too!!!”, one stack each sec and u lose the ability to bleeding;
if the corrupotion skill became realy OP, then its justifies deal a great damage on yourself. But now just epidemic its nice.
Yeah I love my necro now, I am playing a build that the meta considered trash but after the recent changes it is a lot more stable and heck I have won a few 1 v 2 in the pvp scene, mind you they sucked but still.
I’m actually gonna go back on what I said. This patch is awful. Not because of what we have, but because of what everyone else has. The power creep level is incredibly against our favor. The lack of a true scaling defense is becoming more and more obnoxious.

Most builds I can make feel fun and right to use now, but the power creep of other professions is horrid, and the fact that bleed and poison got shafted really hurts most condi builds we can play. It’s telling that the only way we really get good condition stacks going is by transferring other peoples’ or by getting lucky and corrupting giant boon stacks. Parts of the profession feel vaguely coherent now, but there’s still a lot of missing pieces.
My biggest disappointment is, every build I can make right now feels like it should be a Power build. My own conditions suck because I’m relying on everyone else’s, so if I want to run a corrupt build, I do that with power. I want to run a transfer build – may as well do that with power. I want to run wells…may as well do that with power! And the beat goes on. Our own bleed application just feels so bad compared to others’, and our poison access doesn’t make up for it. So focusing on my own ability to make conditions – as opposed to manipulating others’ – feels useless. It’s a neat niche, but it really limits weapon variety.

Indeed in most cases death shroud can’t keep up. The only thing saving me is plaque signet+ transfer.
Been running a d/d & staff spectral death perception valk/zerk build in wvw (solo/small group). With life steal on crit food this build works so so good atm.
That said, when the randoms get their new cookie-cutter builds off metabattle things might change a bit. Time will tell.
