Ex necro main (since rev came out), was trying to put together a new wvw build as I questioned the usefullness of necro. Anyways I got a few questions as I cant test some stuff at the moment due to being out of town.

WIKI: “While in Death Shroud, direct damage is halved, except when the hit depletes all of the life force. This damage reduction isn’t shown in the combat log.”

1) Is this still the case? A 10k eviscerate would only drop my LF from 15k to 10k? Is this also the case for reapers shroud?

2) I have read this somewhere on the forum. Does reapers onslaught actually increase stomp and rez speed?

3) Werent DS skills damage normalized for weapons of different strength? Previously a staff shroud did more dmg than dagger shroud. Is this also true for reapers shroud? Wiki says its not normalized.

4) Do cancelled/interrupted wells still go on full cooldown?

Thats it for now I guess.

1. Yes. Both Shrouds have the damage reduction.

2. Yes. Also affects channel speed on things like Mist Heroes and Temple of the Silent Storm buffs.

3. Death Shroud no, Reaper’s Shroud yes. Death Shroud is based off of whatever weapon set you were wielding when you entered Shroud. Reaper’s Shroud is based off of Exotic Hammer stats, IIRC. I am certain on the Hammer, since Reaper’s Shroud kills advance the Hammer Master achievement.

I don’t know for #4.

@4: No.

WIKI: “While in Death Shroud, direct damage is halved, except when the hit depletes all of the life force. This damage reduction isn’t shown in the combat log.”

Just to clarify, there isn’t just a reduction on direct damage but any source of damage (yes, even falling damage), which is why people originally assumed our life force pool was twice as big before we could actually see a number on our lf bar.

So why do we now assume a damage reduction rather than a bugged displayed lf number? Overflow damage from Shroud to your regular hp reduces your life force by the correct amount, which makes a damage reduction in Shroud more plausible than a UI bug combined with a double damage bug against life force on overflow.

In short, apart from very few exceptions you can pretend that whatever life force number you see on your bar is actually double.
