Sooo... pvp MMs with Warhorn now?
MM won’t change much.

The unblockable daze and life force generation of the warhorn has always been good for minion masters.
The real question is why you didn’t have warhorn in the first place. You should be running dagger/warhorn and axe/focus or dagger, staff just flat out isn’t worth it in MM builds. Warhorn is necessary to be able to rotate from home to far/objectives when its open, also the unblockable daze makes 1v1s against DPS guards pretty much a cake walk, and you want either dagger OH for the removal or focus for the boon removal/burst.
So really, no one should be adding warhorn to their build because it should have been there from the start.
Yeah I agree that staff isn’t worth it since the Putrid Mark nerf, but a lot of people have been running it anyway (with axe/focus on the offset). Anyway, my question wasn’t “will people now startt runnning it?” but will it give MMs enough extra mobility to actually be viable at high level?
MMs being viable at high tier has little to do with mobility; a lot of teams right now run pretty immobile specs.
The issue is multi-fold.
1) High tier players simply don’t like the build
2) Following from 1, a lot of them simply don’t know how to play it
3) (all of these are similar) People don’t build it properly
4) Up until recently, the build had a huge counter in the meta: hambow. There really wasn’t anything you could do against hambow and expect to win
The only thing that really needs to be changed to make MM viable right now is for the common specs it would have to 1v1/2v2 to be at least neutral mathups. After that, its possible to do just fine. Right now its possible that the build could do well, I haven’t had enough time to see what the meta is going towards. But basically as long as the builds don’t have too much AoE it should be okay. It won’t really ever be meta unless it becomes broken OP though.
I don’t play MM, but I think war-horn /dagger are so much better than focus unless playing vs all guards/eles, but focus seems to be the most common. Boon strip is great, but the cast times are horrendous! WH has a sweet aoe daze, some lifeforce generation and swiftness, and dagger is godly verses zerker builds (multi-target blind and weakness). Surprised at how much more common focus seems to be than the other two.
I switched my dagger for WH in WvW, but am sticking with offhand dagger in pvp. I don’t play MM but I would use dagger on that build as well
The focus should only be picked over dagger for off-hands, WH is just too important. The 5 skill is generally fine, because as MM you don’t tend to need to cast things as often as other specs (half your skills at any time are already cast, and most minion actives are instant), and the 4 is an amazing amount of vuln + burst. It gives you a stronger debuffing for 1v1s, and realistically if someone tries to dodge it you can self-cancel it. Plus LF generation, which is important to sustain yourself.
The only big thing I hold against dagger is that the 5 skill feels unnecessary, you already get a lot of weakness uptime if you just land Putrid Explosion anyway, so its really just there for condi transfer/blind.
Neither are bad, I just find focus tends to give more if I can afford the loss in removal.
Been playing MM exclusively from launch. Staff works great with MM.
staff2 heals your minions…
I run staff and axe/warhorn . Yes sometimes the minions die, but that’s the price for having a constant uptime on all your skills.
Also, most of my minions are mobile range turrets, so they should be striking from beyond the center of the point.
If you want regen run dwayna runes, it doesn’t leave you with an awful weapon (for MM). Your minions shouldn’t be dying much except in big AoE fights if you’ve built right.

Naturally, discounting Bone Minions which should be dying all the time.
Yes, die, bone minions, die in a putrid explosion!
Also, I almost miss jagged horror’s death warble, almost. I can still hear it but it will not stop.
