Not sure how many people here know this, but using Spectral Walk and Recall in midair resets your fall momentum. Activate both just before you hit the ground, and you can jump off of Mount Maelstrom with impunity!

I know alot of people know this but I thought I should mention if your doing pvp on sky hammer you can use spectral walk to occasionally come back from being knocked off.

Well, now I am 100% sure I will never use my necro in EotM again, or WvW for that matter. Seems like every patch they “fix” something that was useful there. Guess I’ll just stick to spammy classes and follow the other sheep.

Anet knows about it. I remember a red post specifically commenting on this functionality when necros were up in arms about the death shroud change that caused damage while in death shroud to bleed over into the normal health pool. Necros used to be able to survive a fatal drop by letting death shroud absorb the damage. That, of course, had other implications for pvp and whatnot beyond terrain traversal when you can essentially get a limited aegis on deathshroud cooldown as well. The dev talked about adding some sort of limitation on spectral walk as well to stop this but said they ultimately decided against it. That’s not to say that it won’t change in the future. I’m sure they are still weighing the benefits/drawbacks of keeping the skill as is.

It wouldn’t be the end of the world if they did change it.

No sympathy from me, I main a mesmer and they ignore horrendous game breaking bugs but “Fix Bugs” that no one ever cared about.
