Spectral Wall

it could need a small buff. the ability to block projectile like many other walls would be awesome (there was already a thread about that. some1 suggested that it could absorb projectiles and turn them into life force).
but a (total) makeover isnt needed is imo not necessary. the wall gives quite some protection (when you pass it twice) and a good amount of vulnerability; as a melee-necro, i really like it in pve.
in wvw it can be really good useful if you let entire zergs pass through it.

if something stands in it it will stack, but there is a minimum time before it reapplies it’s stuff.
Wouldnt making it a dome effect be better?

OoooOooooo.
That sounds lovely.

In WvW, it is a good skill the use before your zerg charge at the enemy. There is no limit on the buffs so your whole zerg gets 33% protection.

Projectile reflect is just one option. Arenanet could add retaliation, a spectral clone, a random disguise, buff stamina, add regeneration, stability, or even defiant. My opinion is the spectral skills need buffing but have potential for a true tank build sacrificing outgoing damage for reduced incoming damage. I might try a full set of knight’s gear or a mix of knight’s and cleric’s to see how it goes (running all specral utilities). I am not sure if apothecary’s or rabid gear are appropriate for a true tank. I would imagine priorities for gear are power, healing, vitality, and toughness; i.e., maximize the boons over inflicting curses.
In fact, it might be nice if Necromancer had a spectral skill that would convert conditions on a foe to boons on the Necromancer like a mash-up of Consume Conditions, Well of Power, and Corrupt Boon
If it provided protection AND vigor it would be pretty kitten worth it.
Absorbing projectiles (rather than reflecting them) and adding Lifeforce per projectile absorbed sounds both useful and very Necromancer-y.

Yeah… I think it needs a serious buff..
In a recent interview, they talked about how each profession has more than a few utility skills that barely get picked because they simply aren’t “good enough”. So in the next patch, I think we may see some improvements with a lot of skills
