Ehm… I’m going to put it this way:

Effect:
Spectral armor – gain 3% life force when taking damage
Spectral walk – gain 3% life force when taking damage

Effect duration:
Spectral armor – 6 seconds
Spectral walk – 8 seconds

Specific stuff:
Spectral armor – Removed when you enter death shroud.
Spectral walk – Removed when you enter death shroud. Spectral recall.

Cooldown:
Spectral armor – 90 seconds
Spectral walk – 60 seconds

Boons and their duration:
Spectral armor – Protection for 6 seconds
Spectral walk – Swiftness for 30 seconds

Stunbreaker:
Spectral armor – yes
Spectral walk – yes

Trait:
Minor trait Last Gasp – gain Spectral Armor at 50% health(60 second CD)

Can we please have something done to bring the Spectral Armor utility up to par with it’s trait version as well as spectral walk?

Spectral walk’s 3% life force on being hit effect is also removed when you enter Death Shroud.

That said, I think spectral armor needs some sort of adjustment.

Mixing insults with your post is like pooping in a salad.
It’s pretty obvious, and nobody’s impressed.

The ability to use Spectral Armor, or Spectral Walk whilst in Deathshroud to provide a decent heal-per hit would be strong, which Arenanet is afraid of. However, it wouldn’t be NEARLY as strong as some of the other similar things other classes can do, such as Troll Ungent, Stealth cleansing/healing, and Block healing/invulnerability healing.

Yeah I was misinformed regarding Spectral Walk. The point stands that Spectral Armor is very lackluster compared to the minor trait as well as Spectral walk. If we could have the spectral effects stay while in death shroud that could potentially be our invulnerability thing.

The whole thing about losing the spectral buff in DS is extremely dumb, if they don’t want us to gain LF per hit while in DS, make it so we don’t get THE EFFECT of the spectral buff while in DS, I don’t want to enter DS to interrupt someone’s heal, just to waste the better part of a good utility/trait, I should still have the buff once I leave, just like how regeneration works currently.

Spectral Armor definitely needs some changes, it isn’t really worth it at this point. As OP said, you can get everything but the protection from a skill with half a minute less CD, and that protection isn’t enough.

The 3% life force per hit wouldn’t come close to outhealing the spike going in. Against most power based classes at beast your death shroud will last you 3 seconds. I know against a D/P thief my death shroud’s gone in under 2 seconds.
