It heals you for 5% of the damage you do, so the second one.
It’s still not very good unless you combine it with every other heal over time/siphon we have, and even then it’s a specific and non competitive build if you’re thinking about pvp or WvW.
I mean we have so many underwhelming traits Ill probably try it out just to see how it goes XD
I put it into a build that I had some fun with; if you google “attempt at attrition necro” it should come up. But that is only something I use when I’m not trying to be competitive.
I actually used this a lot for some added sustain during the Queen’s Gauntlet for 5-gambit farming, but otherwise I’ve never used it and would never use it.
Same here. Only used the trait when I did the Queen’s Gauntlet events and bosses. I sometimes use this trait when doing pve and other stuff but found it quite underwhelming unlike XII and XI. I can say that dealing aoe bleeds with marks, scepter 2, dagger 5, DS 5 and epidemic works nicely with this trait.
Yes it heals back what condi damage u do, but it heals 0 if youre in DS.
I like it for easy peasy titty squezy PvE. Its far from optimal but everything works to some extent in pve.
WvW i only see ascii use it in his conditank for solo/small scale roaming. He streams so u can check it out if you like it.
Pvp its absolutely unviable. Its stupid to have your own mechanics work against you and like on any normal build where u put stuff and it works together.
Maybe when someday this trait, sihpons and own regen finaly work through deathshroud it could be a thing, granted the number are still low to stuff like 600hps eles.

Condition damage includes bleeding, poison, confusion, and burning (somehow without Dhuumfire). I do not believe you get any healing from direct damage on skills that include conditions and Necromancer has plenty of conditions that do no damage at all.
It is still a pretty good trait if you need healing help on a power build but Close to Death is way, way better if you do not need the healing.
I only use it to solo camps in WVW and in silver wastes. It’s good if you have a bunch of mobs together and pop epidemic on a heavily conditioned target, but PvP and solo roaming, not so much. The healing isn’t enough to get back the damage you’ll be taking.
I like it for solo PvE. That would be it.

What annoys me is they have buffed thieves invigorating precision twice to 15%, but haven’t touched this. If it was 10 or 15% it might see some use.
