Spiteful Spirit poop
It’s a good skill, but not GM worthy. If used in a group fight, it gives you a lot of retaliation + boon strips + hits pretty hard. The longer than DS ICD makes it less useful.
Well, if you run it with the axe trait, it will pop every time you enter death shroud. Of course, that’s not actually making it good. It is pretty terrible in comparison to the other two Spite grandmasters, but we can’t even get them to fix Dhuumfire and Master of Corruption, two traits that potentially make the skills they affect worse.

They are tricking us into slotting axe…bad move no ICD woul make it decent maybe not GM worthy but definitely decent, it’s current state along with Wetfire is not leaving me much options to explore. They could make it activate on exit as well.

If used WITH axe it’d be great…but axe is just soooo baaadddd. Otherwise I could see it being used as a sort of more teamfight oriented corruption build.
Axe is beyond repair with traits, the whole weapon needs a rework.
I think I should remove this quote given the recent developement.
If it was an adept trait, i’d pick. I don’t like much the spite’s adept traits but GM…not gonna happen.
It would be a good GM worthy trait if it blast finished. You could even play axe for blast finisher support builds, because you could blast finish twice in 3 seconds & it wouldn’t even matter how bad the rest of axe was.
Over the past month we got many of threads from conditionmancers “I can’t take path of corruption, terror & lingering curse,” anymore. That nobody ever suggests to replace the 2 boon conversion of path of corruption with the one AoE corruption of Spiteful Spirit is very telling.

We have people on this forum complaining that getting ranged wells baseline is a nerf, this community is really bad at generating reasonable complaints.

There is an exception to everything but a lot of complaints are too obvious that next patch better be good.

I can actually feel the pain of the people complaining about base ranged wells. I like it but it took some getting used to with my power dagger set up as I’m a quarter of a second slower in melee range as I have to click twice to drop it on someone up close. Then again after the learning curve I find I’m much more versatile as I have a ranged attack while holding my dagger. The bottom line is most people are uncomfortable with change. Even if change if for the better people will grumble about it assuming the worse. For necros the worst is true most of the time so people grumble a but more.

I use this trait and combined with Bitter Chill and Weakening Shroud you have insane cover-condis. Enter DS and you cause bleeds, cripple, 1 boon convert (which is a free condi for you) and weakness. If you use Dark Path, that’s an added chill and vuln…. which is a total of 6 different conditions. I think the trait is pretty amazing, personally
Edit: still have to do more testing with Path of Corruption instead of Terror… but that would be 2 more boon conversions… add in Chill of Death… mmm mm mmmm.

The really sad thing is that axe is Necromancer’s best ranged power weapon.

Just tested Uhholy Fervor(axe trait) with Spitful Spirit.
No decrease in cooldown or damage increase.
