Staff dmg on cond dmg build.
Staff can be used quite nicely for support and AoE dmg in events and dungeons, as well as for cc. Actually, staff skill 1 also has quite high direct damage, if it just wasn’t quite so slow…
necro staff auto atack basically is useless. very low dps even with more 2k power, very easy to avoid and very low LF generation but the cosmetic part is great
Just a quick question about staff & condition builds. I’ve been stacking +condition damage and neglecting power. Should I be stacking some power too? I use scepter/dagger with staff off-set.

well its up to you.
for your consideration
100 condition damage will increase a single bleed tick by 5 damage
100 power will increase the staff 1 damage by 25 damage
(according to this post – https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/necromancer/Autoattack-DPS-and-cast-times/first#post372448)
the staff 1 skill is 0.75 second cool down lets call it 1 second so to get more performace out of 100 condition vs 100 power you would need more than 5 bleeds on a target.
scepter attack is faster, not that dodgeable, and does about 1/2 of staff, thus staff 1 and scepter 1 dps is simliar, but for the amount of bleeds/poison is applied by scepter. Staff 1 is a time filler, what you press when your not hitting 2, 3, 4, 5
I wish they graphic, sound, speed, and dmg was changed (boosted).
@merch
I think you mean that “…you would need more than 5 total ticks/seconds of bleed on a target.”
You don’t need 5 stacks of bleeds, just a total of 5 ticks, so a single cast of MoB or Chillblains easily gets more benefit from condition damage.

to match dps increase of 25 per second on the staff (from power) you would need 5 stack of bleeds
5 bleed damage increase (from cond damage) x 5seconds = 25dps
Staff 1 pierces. It can be amazing under some circumstances.
Bottom line is that staff is a long range, aoe weapon.
Girjon, what’s your build?
