Q:

Here is a situation that I encounter a lot.

-I engage a thief( I know my first mistake)
-I cast my axe 2 spell( Ghastly claws)
- As you all know in all of our channeled increase in dps through the duration of the spell.

My questions

If the thief stealths mid cast does the channeled ability stop or does it continue to do its full damage?

-If it does not continue is this working as intended?

Do you think that the damage should be constant through the duration of the spell?

IE 1750 1750 1750 1750 1750 1750(10500) vs 500 1000 1500 2000 2500 3000(10500)

Was this considered in the balancing of classes and or spells?

Being a player who plays Dagger warhorn Axe focus a lot I have 3 channeled abilites that i use a lot so this is pretty important.

Thanks in advance.

A:

Yes both skills that channel requiring a target such as Ghastly Claws and skills that dont such as Life Transfer will continue to damage anyone stealthed even if they stealth midway through its channel.

A small tip too is ones that require a target like Ghastly Claws will also follow the direction the stealthed person moves in. So if they run behind you and your still channeling, your toon will turn around.

Also, I’m not sure if this is what you’re assuming, but the dmg isn’t “ramping” up, it’s just adding each tic (which is a constant amount of dmg) to the sum shown over your target.

So it’s like : +400 (400), +400 (800), +400 (1200), +400 (1600).

The only channel that ACTUALLY ramps up in dmg is Ele Air Sceptre #1.
